re: 10-2 is the floor and 12-0 the ceiling. We have a senior laden team now but not next year.

Jesus christ. No wonder this board's favorite QB is whoever is riding the pine on the bench or the slightest slip up they want the coach fired.

I keep seeing this team is talented but you can't say that. Nobody really knows. Most of the transfer portal guys are from small colleges that doesn't mean they can convert to SEC easily. Some are not even passing players up they should be and we don't even have a full 85 man roster which is going to dent us hard when inevitable injuries pile up.

I think we'll be in every football game competitive which is what we should expect. Next year will be a different story for BK. This is not our year. Deal with it.

These two statements aren't even close to each other. If LSU is competitive in every game then they can win....but its not our year? Makes no sense.

At this point either all in or all out. I agree with your first statement...LSU is going to be competitive...meaning they can beat anyone. So as a fan...lets ride 12-0

10-2 is the ceiling.

6-6 is the floor. Don’t kid yourself.

If they pull of a miracle and beat Alabama. They still have 7 other formidable conference opponents. One I feel might sneak us is State

There’s absolutely no guarantee that those position groups will be bad once the season starts. I mean you’re the king of stupid, shitty, reactionary takes so I’m not surprised but at least one of those groups will probably be pretty good this season

delusional. Our schedule is brutal, with numerous very good teams, each of which is losable. Now, we won't lose every game to a good team, but there are many very tough games we could lose.

Kelly was a great hire and will have us back on top soon, but not this year.

I have 9-3, but I think you're wrong on next year. While the secondary is going to be a major question, the rest of the team might be crazy stout.

OFFENSE
The entire OL that we start and rotate this year will return next year except for Cam Wire wnd Tre'Mond Shorts. Emery Jones will easily plug one of those holes.

Bech, Nabers, BTJ, and Hilton will be in their 3rd years. This WR unit could still be top 3 in the country.

Goodwin and Josh Williams will be back and LSU brings in 2 studs at the RB position in the 2023 class that are good enough to contribute immediately.

Walker Howard will likely be the starter and the kid is a star in the making. With an experienced and talented OL, loaded and experienced WR unit, and nice options at RB, he'll put on a show like all these redshirt freshman QBs have been doing recently.

DEFENSE
DL still brings back Maason Smith (future top 10 pick), Guillory, and Wingo, to anchor it with talent and experience. Little will play the role Ojulari is playing in this defense, and we have, at worst, depth with Saivon Jones as a DE. Last but not least, that physical freak Wiggins will be starting at one DE spot wrecking havoc as a 6'5 275lb monster. We also have a whole squad of freshman coming in providing even greater depth

LB will have experience with Weeks, Penn, and Perkins. They have bodies behind them we just need to see how that will all shake out. Perkins is going to be another monster in this defense. Seriously the front 7 next year should be really nasty as well.

With Garner coming back and Welch likely coming into his own, the starting corners should be set. Depth will more than likely be a bunch of freshman and redshirt freshman though unless somebody balls out from the younger group. Safety is the big mystery. I can see a guy like Kylin Jackson coming in as a freshman and making plays, but man reports on Davis and Langois are scarce to non-existent. We need at least one surefire starter in one of those safety spots, so we may have to go transfer portal.

Again outside of maybe the safeties and good corner depth, 2023 should be ready for a championship run.

If you heard today Hunt Palmer breaking down the talent left on this team from 2019 and 2020 signing classes, 5 left from 2019, and 8 left from 2020...and literally maybe 5 of those are starters, you'd know how asinine this homer shite is. Temper expectations, it will come, just not this year

These are the irrational fans that flood the board after a loss with demands that coaches get fired and players get benched.

Coming off a major injury, might not even start

4 John Emery Jr. RB 5'-11" 220 SR Saint Rose, LA

Suspended first 2 games and hasn't played a snap since the Florida game in 2020. Also only has 500 career rushing yards and most likely won't be the starter.

4 Todd Harris Jr. S 5'-11" 195 SR Maringouin, LA

Below average safety that will not start

12 Greg Brooks Jr. DB 5'-9" 185 SR Harvey, LA

24 Jarrick Bernard-Converse CB 6'-1" 205 SR Shreveport, LA
45 Colby Richardson DB 6'-1" 171 SR New Orleans, LA
2 Mekhi Garner CB 6'-2" 215 JR Mesquite, TX

Transfer DBs, don't know much about them outside of that.

61 Cameron Wire OT 6'-6" 307 SR Gonzales, LA

Backup OT, was decent in the games he played in the past 2 years but nothing special.

quote:

2 Kyren Lacy WR 6'-2" 215 JR Thibodaux, LA

Haven't heard much about him in camp, don't know what to expect.

quote:

21 Noah Cain RB 5'-11" 225 JR Baton Rouge, LA

Played in 12 games last year and only had 350 yards with 3.3 ypc..

Literally have your senior list is suspended/transferring.

quote:

58 Kardell Thomas OL 6'-4" 345 JR Baton Rouge, LA
59 Desmond Little DE 6'-5" 231 JR Prichard, AL
69 Charles Turner OL 6'-4" 285 JR Canton, OH
27 Josh Williams RB 5'-9" 208 JR Houston, TX

Below average backups.

quote:

15 Myles Brennan QB 6'-4" 235 SR Long Beach, MS
21 Jordan Toles S 6'-1" 205 JR Baltimore, MD
26 Tre Bradford RB 6'-0" 210 JR Dallas, TX
29 Raydarious Jones CB 6'-2" 175 JR Horn Lake, MS

Transferring, retiring, or suspended.

And half of the remaining list are backup/walk-ons who will not play any significant time. The floor is 6-6/7-5.

I love the enthusiasm but you listed four guys who are no longer on the team.

Myles Brennan, Jordan Toles, Raydar Jones, Tre Bradford. All gone.

You also listed a bunch of walk ons who will not play any significant role.!

Your post would have more validity if you just highlighted the upper classmen who are expected to make significant contributions.

I can see us anywhere from 6-6 to 9-3.

I’m just happy to have a competent coach who assembled a good staff.
