10-2 is the floor and 12-0 the ceiling. We have a senior laden team now but not next year.

I have been reading doom and gloom for this team from 6&6 to 7&5 as the ceiling. Everyone is pointing to needing another year to rebuild. I don’t see the rebuild happening next year. I’m going out on a limb and putting my faith in a senior laden team that this is our best shot of returning to glory. Combining the senior roster with experienced coaches comments coming from practice reports got me excited about this team. Next year could be worst because looking at the roster below we are going to lose a lot of experience and talent next year just from seniors not to mention eligible juniors that will leave for the NFL. Now is our time! How could you not be positive about this team that will take the field this year. It is our time!

Kelly confirmed that the cornerback position has come a long way since the end of spring when depth was a question. I think we’ve got six corners that we feel we can play,” Kelly said. And that’s a far cry from where we were a few months ago.”
If you dive into what Kelly said about his offensive line as a whole earlier this week, it’s pretty clear that he really likes the five projected starters and their potential. But even he was quick to point out that the group needs time to grow and mesh together. “We have time to do it. I think if they continue to work together, we’ll have a nice unit there.”
Personally, I think this offensive line will surprise some people.
BK On the defensive line…
“We’ve got so much more depth now. A lot of younger guys are stepping up. Our front four, we’re experienced. We should be the most dominant front four in the NCAA this year. That’s my opinion. And we have a lot of young guys behind us that are getting better and understanding the game and getting the speed of the game more. Like Savion Jones, Makai Wingo, Bryce Langston is coming along, Quency Wiggins. All those guys are gonna be able to play this year.”
Mike Denbrock’s Comments On running backs and tight ends in the passing game…
“Tight ends, if we can continue their development, and the running backs in particular, are just going to make everyone around them better if they become a viable option in the passing game… With the wide receiver group we have, we’re all feeling pretty good about the depth that’s in that room and how explosive those guys are. Teams are going to do things to take them out of the game, and when they do that’s going to make some opportunities for other guys and we have to get them ready to make those plays.”
On the linebacker group…
We’ve got a great group. We’re deep. We’ve got a lot of talent. But I feel like with our expectations being so high — you know, coach House setting our expectation — we’re gonna get the job done regardless. The only question is who’s out there at this point.”
I’m ready for this season and I’m excited!

You seen the schedule?

I really hope you're in the extreme minority of fans
We have a literal rent a secondary this year from around CFB, a few rent a OLinemen plus a true freshman there, let's temper expectations a tad.

This team has a ton of talent, but some very weak areas. If they go 12-0, Kelly will get a statue.
It’s not going to happen though.

You’re going to be ridiculed but I agree. I just don’t see this staff with this talent dropping more than 3 games

Yes I have and the only team that worries me is BAMA. A senior laden LSU team with a good coach should be able to handle all the other teams on our schedule!

No kidding.
This is every bit an 8/9 win team, IF we don't have injuries at a couple positions.

Come on people....
Our OLine isn't proven and we're not sure who the QB will be.... and even if we are, we aren't sure he's a stud.
And - new coaching staff and a tough schedule.

You are ignoring the most important part of every single football team. We do not have a proven elite quarterback.

Agreed, with a few caveats discussed below.
But whats always the missing piece here.. a QB. See 2019. Im drinking the JD Koolaid. He completely slays & our D gets back to respectability and keeps us in every game we are underdogs.
Hopefully FG kicking will not lose us a game or 2.. a little worried there ab the lack of exp. but trust Polian for the rest of the special teams.
And avoid any catastrophic injurys to our RBs. depth/injury history is concerning.

2019 is now the standard, if the HC can't achieve at least that on down years and top it most years we need to fire the entire staff
Posted on 8/23/22 at 11:05 am to GarlandTiger
Excluding 2019, we haven't had a 10 win regular season since 2012. 10 wins is possible - but it ain't the floor.

The team won't be worse next year. That said, I think a LOT of people are going to be surprised by what this team does.
The 6&6 or 7&5 crowd is going to be shocked. I think LSU is the most under-rated team in America right now. I'll bookmark myself and check that in 30 days.

6-6 is the floor with this schedule. 10-2 actually feels more like a ceiling.
