Even if the "No. 1 ranking" is only temporary, LSU would be foolish NOT to promote it. Recruiting is nothing more than sales. You want to try to sell others on joining a good thing.

There is a good core with Reed, Miller, Collins and Givens and the 3 new freshmen coming in.Still have a few needs so will see what else they bring in but anyone complaining about promoting the current ranking is clueless about marketing, branding and momentum. Even I know this won't stay but they would be stupid not to use this to their advantage right now.

At the very least, he is bigger and more equipped for 4 guard lineup. It seems he might get into must score mode and force some stuff. He isn’t the best shooter, but isn’t bad enough that he can be ignored outside the 3pt line.

It sounds like he was very receptive about his shot selection. He was a solid spot up shooter, but an absolutely awful shooter off the bounce. It'll be interesting to see if he actually follows through wtih the shot selection, it's one thing to say but another thing to do.

The portal widow is still open and there will be more transfers. Obviously, the Final Four teams are not yet in play. LSU has improved its roster but IMHO we currently have low-mid SEC roster at best. I hope we have the resources to grab a few more players but think we may come up short on a really big transfer. I still wonder what record keeps McM at LSU after next season. I'm not seeing a .500 SEC record with this roster and staff.

Yeah, my expectations for next year are probably 5-6 SEC wins from jump street, 7’s being really generous. If we bring in a really top transfer class, then this has to be make or break for him right? Like we have to finish with a winning overall record or make the NCAAs I’d imagine.

I hope the fire line is above .500 in SEC and make NCAAs but who knows. The bar has never been lower for a major college coach in a primary sport.

We are presently ranked 3rd on 247 after Mackinnon behind Louisville and Creighton with one more commit than them respectively
