The belief is Nuss is playing hurt.

Nuss isn’t hurt. He hasn’t been hurt/injured since SELU. This has been consistent and confirmed multiple times. BK has used it as a scapegoat for performance and self preservation. Essentially, he lied about it. Nuss all but confirmed it was BS after Vandy.

Unfortunately for Nuss as a nepo baby has done what nepo babies do. He squandered an amazing opportunity.

WTF happened to Nuss between last year and this year???

That might be something we never know the answer to. I don’t want to make accusations but here’s some options we can pick from

He’s just an average QB

He’s an average QB who chose not to prepare during the offseason and before games

Hes an average QB that tried to prepare but can’t get better, or is being asked to do something that doesn’t work

He is doing the bare minimum to keep from getting injured and hoping his dads contacts get him a place somewhere in the NFL

Any of those are possible.

Nuss is done. He may never play again for the LSU Tigers. Hell, this team isn't even bowl eligible and you know Nuss is going to opt out should we make it to some meaningless bowl game. Let Van Buren start and play to have him competitive for next season.

It will be beyond stupid for MVB to not get first team reps

Did Frank not understand that this past game?

Obviously not. Its tough to plie on an the interim guy with all that's going on, but at the time I thought he fricked up not naming MVB the starter and giving him two weeks of first team reps. In hindsight, its obvious he should have done that.

IMO no way he gets drafted.

If I’m a NFL team I do not draft Nuss.
His on field performance is so bad and he has regressed so much that I wouldn’t even consider it.
But more so than that, the off field visuals and actions I see on a weekly basis would cause me to pass on Nuss.
Quite frankly, he is the opposite of what I would be looking for in terms of the intangibles that are required to play QB and lead an offense at that level.

He padded his stat line with enough useless completions that he will 100 percent start.

Dumbass press and coaches and draft experts will look at 18/21 and assume he played well.

99.9% Nuss starts vs Hogs. Sad but true.

I get that people are pissed about this season, but at least be honest when trashing Nuss. He threw for over 4k yards last season. He is in the Top 4 all-time at LSU for yds, TDs, comp %, but yet he was never any good

He had good moments but he was always careless with the ball, always turnover prone and his decision making never got better since his freshman year.

In 2024 he put up numbers and that’s fine without context but outside of the 4th quarter and OT vs Ole Miss he shite the bed in big games.

I know it is the NIL era but LSU seems beholden to Nuss for some reason.

He shouldn’t start at this point with how the season has gone. MVB needs to get the reps. I don’t think he is a world beater but at least he is more mobile and the poor state of the LSU offensive line necessitates a mobile QB. Plus, MVB could be at LSU next season while Nuss won’t.

B Blanco, your logic is impeccable but this is LSU. i expect Nuss to start and play most of the game while my head explodes.
