I had a buddy who kicked for LSU back in the old days .. eventually worked his way up to starter, but when he was like 4th or 5th on the depth chart freshman year, we'd go to one of the local BR high schools and id hold for him so he could practice kicking.. until you see it head-on, you have no idea how far even a 35 yard field goal looks from the spot of the kick.. and how incredibly narrow the goal posts look .. The kid that made the kick today for sure had some experience, otherwise with even a minuscule amount of coaching could eventually go to the NFL, no problem .
