With just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter and holding a narrow 5-point lead, Kiffin opted to go for it on a gutsy 4th-and-1 play. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss found a wide-open Dae'Quan Wright for a 20-yard completion to secure the first down and successfully run out the clock.

Lane trusted his defense. He thought he finally had a real one this year.

Different scenario. Ole Miss was in LSU territory and LSU needed a TD to win. Fg wasn't an option.

He shouldn’t have trusted any defense in this situation. I swear in these 2 minute situations the chance on the offense getting into field goal range is high as frick.
Your chance of getting 1 yard is also high as frick. Why didn’t he just take the odds that were in his favor. It makes no sense to me.
