Lane Kiffin gets a grade of D

Just not well prepared. The pre snap penalties were unacceptable. That looked like a pretty poorly coached team.
So is this what we're going to get out of the Lane Kiffin era, coming up small in the biggest games? That's his history, can't really run from that narrative.

His next test is going up against a team that got embarrassed at home as a prohibitive favorite.

They didn’t have but a few penalties.
Players have to make plays

This game is 100% on Baker and Leavitt. More so Leavitt, imo.

The coaching was not good either. Taking Leavitt out on 3rd and goal and running some dumb play that lost a yard was a good example of that.

Meh. This team battled back and tied the game. They withstood the storm. Baker gets a F. You cant wait till the 2nd half to make adjustments. Look what happened when you manned up and got pressure up the middle on Chambliss. He makes mistakes. Baker got in his own way. Let the guys be guys and if they burn you deep they burn you.

The biggest issue I see with Lane is his QB judgment.
Did he really look at Leavitt’s tape and think “that’s the guy I need”. I mean you gotta give Lane credit for finding a D2 QB that could play. So of all the QBs that he looks at…he thought Leavitt was the best?
Lane had Corral, Dart, Chambliss and Luke Altmyer at Ole Miss. Leavitt is nothing like those guys

He said that was the game plan he Lane) wanted. More zone to keep Chambliss in check and take away the big play.
