How screwed is the SEC, etc if the fed case gets dropped?

He’s never said anything other than he will continue to follow SEC guidance. The courts will do their thing but ultimately he’s never once said he’s going to openly challenge the SEC by playing someone in question. He’s never wavered from that position.

Correct. Im referencing the fact that those players won their injunction... and this is still the outcome... and

Lane didnt say anything else other than he didnt roster them to prevent consequences to the program (from the SEC, who hasn't corrected that )

If it gets dismissed, the SEC may find itself in a little trouble. The only real threat they held in their back pocket would be gone and they’re going to leave their asses wide open to repeated state court challenges.

The NCAA affiliated media that has been wrong about everything at every turn will of course never admit it… but I am pretty confident that the SEC might be far more screwed if the lawsuit doesn’t get dropped.

There are I think 3 big issues with their case

1. It’s premature. LSU hasn’t done anything actually wrong at this point.

2. They’re trying to frame a pure contract dispute as a 1st amendment freedom of association case and it’s laughable. The government can’t force them to keep LSU in the conference but they are voluntarily associating with LSU. The 1st doesn’t give them a freedom from bad behavior of people they choose to associate with.

3. the federal court is going to tell them that if they have an issue with the LA injunction the proper recourse is to appeal it or win at trial.

Now if we roster the players, I could see them brining maybe a cross claim in Louisiana or just voting penalties that we would then challenge.

The lawsuit is about Kiffin and LSU coercing kids to sue. It’s different than the eligibility TRO.
