Many fans and even the playoff committee were too optimistic about this team after beating Bama. The reality is this is not a play-off caliber team and has serious weakness on both offense and defense. A great team may lose to an inferior opponent, but never in a blow out fashion to a 4-7 team. The team lacks talents in key positions and got exploited today.

They’re a playoff caliber team when they play their best football, no doubt.

But that’s the issue.

This team is too new to have the CONSISTENCY needed to compete at a high level week by week.

This team can compete with or beat any team in the nation when they’re playing their best.

Every team is gonna have down games but if you have a championship QB he’ll get you through them. Daniels is ok but he’s not a playoff caliber QB.

Everyone knows this dude.

However, in spite of that, this team managed to knock on the door and had a chance. A very remote chance, but a chance nonetheless.

Sometimes it’s just fun to pull for your team. Foreign concept to a lot of people on this board.

Yep. We had it all on the line and we laid a big fat egg. Now Bama and Tennessee are sending thank you notes to Kelly for saving their seasons.

You are half correct. The team has serious flaws correct. We are a plauoff caliber team just because noone is that good this year. Georgia Michigan and TCU all deserve a shot and i hope USC wins out because at least they have a solid resume. But besides those 4 teams if anyone else wins the title it would kinda invalidate the regular season being a team that didnt even win their conference.

As long as michigan-tcu play first round and uga-usc play won't be terrible

We’re not a top 4 team, but seriously deficient on both sides of the ball? Nah…

eATMe was fired up for the game - their last.
We weren’t.
We’re not good enough to not be on point and beat talented teams - which eATMe is.

Worst record, but not the least talented. Plus they got some key pieces back tonight. We already knew Achane was a beast. Weigman was a bit of a surprise. But when you’re focused on stopping Achane, and you’re unable to, you’re asking for trouble. And that’s what we got. Add to it, a lot of those players were also recruited by us. They had something to prove, the whole team did.

IMO, this loss, as disappointing as it is, doesn’t take much, if anything all all, off of how spectacular this season was. Not when you compare the results to what the initial expectations were. This is still a very good season.

A silver lining to this (bear with me I'm grasping here) is that we did not have a team that could win it all and we are way ahead of schedule - so had we gotten in and lost in the semis all you would fricking hear from now on was how Brian Kelly lost again in the playoffs and can't win a big one. Monkey on the back, get in his head type shite.

Now we avoid that. There. Silver lining. I guess.

Tackling comes down to effort. Give us a 4 out of 10 last night.

Breaking tackles also comes down to effort. Give Maroon6 10 out of 10.

Tigers mailed it in and got what they deserved. I look at it as a learning experience. They bought into the hype. Nobody is gonna be talking about them now.

Anyone who thought different was kidding themselves. This loss sucks. Even more so because it was aTm. But it’s growing pains.

Reality is we are SECW Champs that lost to the last placed team in the SECW.

Reality is we're reduced to judging our team based on preseason media expectations.

This team was lucky to beat Bama and w/o the 2pt conversion, we lose.

We haven't been ready to play since the Bama game. Perk40 played out of his mind to beat Arkansas and UAB didn't have the talent.

Our coaching staff rarely has a well put together game plan initially.

Yes, Lacy had 2 glaring drops. However, with KB, MN, BT, and MT.....Bech and Lacy shouldn't have really been on the field.

House has probably been entertaining offers because his D played poorly all night.
