Never was a pocket passer and actually great at running the option

So are you saying that he is run first QB?

Are you willing to put his numbers up against other run first QBs, Dennis Dixon, Michael Vick, Vince Young, Tim Tebow, Pat White, Tyrod Taylor, Colt McCOy, Robert Griffith, Jarad Masoli, B.J. Daniels etc.

I know he was athletic and used his legs but so did Lee in the highlight video.

fynn ran good, but was no "run first qb", he ran the option well because he was smart and knew when to pitch it, but he's in noway in the same class as a vick or whomever. zach lee is athletic and can possibly run if needed but is a pocket passer. he's highlight film is of high school olines breaking down and leaving him with no choice, not option plays! he's similar to flynn but i dont see the run first option imo

1. Zach loves, loves, loves LSU.
2. $1 million is not as much money as you might think, when you have to pay your own expenses in the minor leagues.
3. A LSU education and getting to enjoy being being a college kid is something that you can't put a price on.
4. By going to LSU, Zach gets to play both sports. As his uncle, I think he has unique talent and could possibly make it in either sport at the next level.
5. Coach Miles is a great man! His high degree of integrity and dedication to his family is a huge reason as to why Zach will be signing with the Tigers in February. Coach Minari(sp?) is cut out of the same cloth.. The LSU family is really blessed to have men like this leading their programs.

IMHO, Zach arrives in Baton Rouge this summer and stays for 4 to 5 years, graduating with honors in Engineering or Mathematics. But hey.. I'm just his uncle what do I know?

I think everyone is just excited about the talent that Zach Lee has, and so as not to set themselves up for disappointment are saying that he probably won't make it to campus, etc, even though at this point they are speculating. He has a great arm and athleticism. I think the battle between he and Chris Garrett will produce one of the best QB's LSU has had in a long time.

The best quote of the year imho. This is why LSU does so well in the recruiting department, families trust these guys. Plus, their coaching ability isn't bad either.

Thanks Dano, nice to see someone with good sense and similar views on here. Many of us look forward to seeing Zach and Chris G. battle it out in the years to come and both will do very well at LSU.

Yes, and also with Coach Grewe, who officially is the recruiting coordinator.

Welcome. Thanks for the information. It would be awesome for him to come...especially since it would be his love for LSU that would bring him here.

But, it's going to be tough for many to believe the info simply because LSU has lost guys to MLB before, even with a family member assuring the fans that the recruit loved LSU. And, as you know, most kids with the opportunity that Zach Lee has choose to go pro.

Please hang around and post as much as you can.

I think they'll space garrett and lee much like they have garrett and JJ. With a token qb competition after the redshirt year.

read/progression-wise Garrett was already a little ahead of most QBs coming out of high school because of the offense he played in at HS and then he enrolled early and went through a spring. Mechanically he's impeccable. His arm strength and accuracy are very good right now. I can only imagine those will get better. Moxie is the only question with him. He seemed to have it in the spring game vs. the ones though (granted he was wearing a green jersey). In other words, he certainly looks legit.

I ain't making this stuff up!

You need to come back every so often to set these guys straight.
Some of them have been consumed with an extraordinary amount of pessimism.

Merry Christmas to the whole dano/Lee clan.

Considering the Von Rosenberg/Colvin saga he endured this summer, I can understand him being very cautious in his optimism.

Fail. Quarterbacks with "weak" arms don't play in the NFL. Not as strong as JR's or RP's but wean by no means.

Seriously, you can express pessimism if you like, but this crap should result in bannage, coming as it does right after his uncle saying that he's coming.

His family's financial situation could play a large role in his decision IMO. If $$ isn't really an a great need with him then the signing bonus may have to be an enormous amount that would just be silly to pass on.
