Both the guys I know played for the Houston team that eventually moved to Tennessee. They liked home games and games against Florida teams way better. I'm shocked at the jock tax. I mean I can't believe New York cares more about a player than a roofer from Texas in New York nailing shingles.

just end the recruiting process and have eBay style auctions

You want to put young, strong black teenagers on the auction block for rich white guys to bid on?

Bold strategy cotton!

If he just wants the $, then see you later. This guy only played one year of HS football.

In two weeks recruiting is seriously making me contemplate finding something else to spend my money on for entertainment
If it’s gonna be like this I can take a nice vacation in lieu of football season tickets
Let the rich people swing for the fences

no he's ineligible

He only played his sophomore year because he was ineligible his freshman year also because of transferring

He's at his 3rd school since 8th grade
Sounds a lot like Bear Alexander

Yes, which is why I suggested if his money is "earned" by signing autographs in Nevada, he may not (probably would not) owe taxes in Cali. New Mexico is the same way, I had guys working there and that was something our company had to account for when they were there.

Doesn't matter where he may state his residence is he still pats taxes where he works...so yeah he would still pay Cali taxes

I’m not saying Cali doesn’t have its issues. Every place does. But there are logical reasons why some places have a higher cost of living. Places with nice climates and limited spacing (Hawaii has the highest cost of living, but all things being equal, most people would kill to live there) because it has a great climate year around and beautiful scenery but the space is very limited.

This doesn’t explain the mass migration AWAY from CA to Texas and Tennessee.

You could sit him down and show him and his parents on paper that it will likely cost 40% more to live in Socal, but all they will see is that USC is offering 2 million while LSU is “only” offering 1.3 million

His coach to me last month he had an 8 million deal from Oregon, USC wasn’t far behind.

There will almost inevitably be a high profile DL in the portal. I’d rather drop the bag on that versus a kid that has hardly played a full season of HS ball.

I had already forgotten about Devin Harper flipping.

And if Stewart goes elsewhere, I'll pretty quickly forget about him, too.

If they sign with LSU, I'll naturally follow them and pull for them, but I'm not going to spend a single second thinking about a kid who goes to USC or Oregon or anywhere else just because he's from Louisiana.

2 million per year = 8 million

Oregon is insanely expensive to live in also, so the same still applies. The money at LSU although less would go further

Yep. Also the white, Latino, pacific islanders, etc that are the makeup of college football. You still need QBs, OL, TE and Kickers.

Point, don't be purposely obtuse to make something out of nothing because 15-20% of the country that actually feel racism still exists in the way it's portrayed on television just happen to be the ones that control the media. It's fantasy island.
Racism, as it exists today, has been turned on its head. The "opressed" now want to be the opressers. But I'm guessing that's not a discussion you'd like to have. Not as interesting as a witty soundbyte.
Those freedoms that the country overwhelmingly voted to protect, and you so thoroughly enjoy(like the ability to make dumb posts), earlier this month, proudly presented to you by the white man. Deal with it.

Yall this kid should be a senior in high school next year. 17 year olds don’t contribute at DL

This is why no one should get bent out of shape no matter where he signs. There’s a very high chance he’ll be on the move again after his freshman year at USCw. Lincoln Riley teams are notoriously soft and porous on defense and without a heisman level QB to elevate the team, you can see this season just what they are.
