With Underwood’s commitment, do we expect to see recruits we wouldn’t otherwise get?

If so, who? I know this is good for keeping Moore committed. Do we see some top rated OT’s or more top rated WR’s wanting to be a Tiger?

Look for Lamont Rodgers to commit. You heard it here first.

50th overall player in the country, #7 OT. He’s out of Mesquite in Texas.

for sure, we’ll be selective on picking another top end WR or two. We already have the top WR in the nation committed, so it’s not like number two or 3 is going to want to come but we can find some studs for sure.

We’re kind of stacked at OL, but Heard leaving makes it more enticing for a top Tackle for sure, as there would be a chance to start.

What we need to go all out on is the defense now. Need to do all that we can to have an average LSU defense and we will win 2-3 nattys with Bryce.

Maybe someone like Caleb Cunningham and get over that hump of getting a top-rated recruit out of Mississippi, but I don't know who else on recruits we "wouldn't get" but moreso help with recruits we are after.

WR Rankings
I mean we lead for Andrew Marsh, the No. 4 receiver, we're heavily in it for Kaliq Lockett, the No. 7 receiver (despite the RPM selections currently). I'd imagine you look for two of those three and call it a day (if all three want in you go for it).

OT Rankings
At OT, it might be more beneficial. Like someone else said, Lamont Rogers is probably one of the next 2025 guys in the class. After that, maybe you swing for the fences with a guy like Michael Fasusi or Ty Haywood, get into that DFW area further. Alfalava seems like a backup plan right now or one you take closer to signing day once the numbers become clearer

If you’re BK you just start sending texts to the #1 players at every position and tell them to join in on the fun.

I wouldn't venture too far from LA in recruiting. We did that with O and the kids with no ties to LA bolted or were misevaluated or flipped on signing day. Prioritize LA, then the Gulf south, then sprinkle in national flavor to top it off.

Absolutely has to help. I’m sure he’s friends with lots of great players from his area and all over the country. I think the offensive talent will come regardless, but I’d take this time to go land some top end DL, LB and DBs.

I mean why not go with it. Let’s make this an historical class on both sides. Land some number ones on defense as well. Top 5 at each level of the defense and then start pulling all the top Louisiana boys. You absolutely don’t go away from the best Louisiana has but having 10 or so OOS top 5 players sure won’t hurt.

Just keep loading up and may the best man win once they come in. That’s the name of the game. You don’t go away from national recruiting because O failed. This is completely different circumstances. This is where we wanted to get to with CBK and he’s doing that, so take full advantage. Some will leave some will stay but keep rolling them in and we’ll build a championship program. Nice job Mr. Kelly!

It definitely helps with retaining DK Moore but outside of that, nah.

The normal factors will remain the main priority: NIL + relationships and comfort with staff.

For 28 years I’ve followed recruiting. The only package deals is taking a players brother who otherwise wouldn’t garner a scholarship offer.

I’m really hoping we can land CB Jaboree Antoine from New Iberia Westgate 6-1 170 long and lean #19 overall player and #3 corner in On3’s rankings

I disagree. Recruiting is sales and everyone has NIL. What ELSE can you offer on top that will set you apart from the rest? Playing time? Development with a track record of NFL Draft and playing success? Great facilities? A roster that can compete for a title?

It’s a lot easier to sell the rest when you have a foundation like this to build the rest of the class on. It will help open a door or two that may not have been otherwise and maybe close a deal for a player who’s on the fence a bit quicker. It’s not just words when they talk about legitimately being able to contend for a title in this window.

LSU already has some great recruiters on staff. Now they have a shitload to sell for 25 and 26.

Don’t be surprised if Adrian Walker, Underwood’s teammate commits as well. Listed as an athlete but he has good film playing db

It sounds like that is what is happening, but when you have those top national guys showing interest, you have to capitalize. The work still needs to be put in, but the LSU brand is putting in work itself also.

Moses is a good start there, but they do need to build on that, especially with DT and CB help.

I think this is why CBK is targeting Corey Raymond to come back, eventhough there are better coaches out there. He already has someone entrenched in Louisiana recruiting on the offensive side, Frank. Now he wants someone on the defensive side. You look how many Louisiana transfers are coming back here. Like Saban said when he first came here, you have to lock down Louisiana first. CBK is doing that. Just with Louisiana talent alone, LSU can field a very successful team. Then you get national guys to fill holes or someone to take you over the top. Now we are being looked at nationally. Especially after beating Bama in year 1, back to back 10 win seasons, CBK national recruiting connections from ND, and Jayden's Heisman winning season. It is a great time for LSU football.

I don't have a direct answer about getting players we wouldn't normally get but he will have the most impact on receivers and Oline. With Kelly, we are already a pipeline for top Oline guys and we consistently have top receivers.

Love the Moore kid from Duncanville and think this helps hang on to him. He is around 6 ft. I hope we attract a tall receiver to pair up with these guys. I expect Sampson to be very good but will be heading off to the NFL when these kids are just starting to shine.

WiseGuy, this has nothing to do with package deals. It has everything to do with wanting be on the bus with other studs and wining at the highest level. Kids who are elite want to be around other kids who are elite. Winning is fun and losing sucks arse. Nuff said...
