Why isnt LSU fighting for Elijah Haven?

I tried to search topics but I didn't find my answer. I dont come here and post often. So, forgive me.
We have Payton Houston. Is it that he is simply our guy? He is what CLK wants and values over Elijah? Does Haven camp want too much money? Character issues?
I'm merely curious about what the board know on this subject about the 2 QB's. Well, and Colton. Is he in the works too?
Thanks for anyone to explain it to me like I am a 5 year old.

Two coaching staffs looked at situation and both were satisfied with Pop.

It may be as simple as Kiffin doesn't have as high of a "market value" on HS QB signees as other schools. Meaning it is not necessarily that he doesn't "want" Haven. It's just that he doesn't want him at the same price another school may be willing to pay (evidently Alabama).
All of Kiffin's success at Ole Miss was with transfer QBs. It appears his mindset is he'd rather spend more on transfers with some degree of college experience than a HS prospect
I can't imagine that is it. I've had the opportunity to have personal interactions with he and his family. In those situations, he and his family were very upstanding people

you don't win with freshman QBs. you win with old men. let him play in the minors at bama for two years and then come here

main reason is because Haven pretty much let the prior staff know he was going out of state and LSU wasn't going to start the bidding wars knowing that.
With what LSU had coming back it was all but certain LSU needed to focus more on the portal after Nuss left

We have a great QB room and you can NIL 2 solid starters for what Haven cost Bama.

Think of them as contractors. You have two contractors offering the same services.
Contractor One's work looks marginally better
Contrator Two's style and techniques look more appealing to most in that business.
Overall, there is not much that separates the two.
So now you look at the quotes from the contractors, and Contractor Two is over your budget, but Contractor One is not.
Which do you go with? Contractor One

Don't know the exact reason. Only guesses.
He is more in the mold of what Kiffin just had in Chambliss. Remember he also went after Demond Williams twice in college. Williams is in a similar mold/build.
The fact that Kelly/Sloan nor Kiffin/Weis Jr went hard after him speaks volumes. My main thought is that he wants to leave Louisiana and all of them felt that when meeting with him. Im not like others thinking money. Alabama does not spend on the same level as the big spenders which LSU just became.
Also, maybe they genuinely think Pop is a better QB than Haven. I watched tape of all Louisiana top QBs and baby bro Nuss months before any of them committed, and Pop was my favorite. My preferred choice. I said that on this recruiting board.

You don’t fight for high school QBs in today’s college football
You fight for immediate starters in the portal with million dollar offers.
It doesn’t matter how many stars he has, how talented he is, or who his dad is, high school recruiting is now on the back burner

Because we already have a QB committed. If Haven is that good, they can get him in two years out of the portal.

Were you one that thought LSU should fight for Arch Manning? Maybe this is a similar situation where you know a kid just doesn't have any plans to play for LSU. Personally I think most every kid these days will follow the money... because that's what is best for their parents, but for a kid like Arch I don't believe anything outside of Papa Archie would have gotten him to LSU.

don't worry, you will see a thread like this again

I honestly believe that if Pop Houston was just 2-3 inches taller, he'd be rated higher than Haven. Pop is a much bigger playmaker, and he does it against higher quality competition.

Maybe they don't think he's as good as his rating or whatever asking price he's looking for? Maybe they're satisfied with what they got. Maybe it's a combination of many things.

you really couldn't check one of the other 1,246 threads on this EXACT SUBJECT?
Haven was NEVER coming to LSU, he was NEVER a fan of LSU, he was NEVER staying in this state for college, he has ALWAYS wanted to go out of state for college, and he was upfront about all of this way early on...
THAT is why LSU isn't "fighting" for Haven... there is NEVER a "fight" to be had...

He throws like Uncle Rico

Have you watched him play ?

How do you know they aren't still fighting, i.e. negotiating, with Haven? I would always have a coach or staffer in contact with every top QB recruit in that class until fall practice starts. College is a lawless landscape and even committed players like Pop can't be counted to be on roster until the first snap of the season.

More in the mold like Chambliss is what I was thinking as well

No, I wasnt on the Manning bandwagon. I have always thought he needs to prove himself and not just wear the name on his back.
