On3 has Sampson as a 5 star. #23 overall and #4 WR. They have him rated most accurately IMO. Your number listed is the On3 consensus.

Is it a guarantee the kid lives up to the hype? No…same goes for any recruit.

There is a reason though why nobody has Parker rated as high as Sampson. If you can’t see why I can’t help you.

Not saying you are wrong, but the whole system is so subjective. So much is projection, you can justify anything.

Sampson showed me significant progress and some refinement this year LSUFANVA. His production against LA’s best competition was impressive this year.

Kyle Parker coming in as a Sr as a top 400, three star is never going to ascend to where he should be in final rankings. Just too much ground to make up, Even with a big Sr season jump.

Both a great players, Parker wins in more ways than Sampson does. An argument doesn’t really need to take place, they are both tigers & hairs have to be split

You are the one trying to make the argument. Nobody else is saying Parker is more talented. ??

Why are all SEC refs from Alabama?

Why don't the poor really inherit the earth?

Why is life not necessarily fair?

I've noticed this. Maybe just observer bias, maybe coincidence. Why does Alabama seem to get all the calls from the refs?

I don't know. But I do think Louisiana kids are special football players, much better generally than whatever stars they get.

If there is really a conspiracy to make sure Alabama has the best recruiting classes by bumping players who commit to them, that would mean their players aren't as good as projected.

I don’t think there’s a conspiracy.

I do think the recruiting services use program interest (i.e. offers) as a tool. So if Saban is all in on a particular player and the services have that player rated somewhat low, I think there is a chance that the services bump the player. Not as part of some conspiracy to pad Alabama’s class ratings, but because that level of interest from Alabama might make the services question their original evals.

It turns into a bit of a chicken/egg scenario. Two things can both be true:
1. Recruiting services rank kids with interest from and/or commitments to Alabama more highly.
2. Alabama wins championships because they have great players.

I don’t necessarily think there’s anything wrong with that. Ultimately the whole point is projecting talent - as long as Saban is winning championships and sending kids to the league, it’s kind of hard to argue against IMO.

So you can talk about it. That’s just the way it is, something’s we’ll never change…

Sampson is a 5 star. He’s just not a consensus one. Most have him rated high enough to not look bad when he excels. Kinda like Jamar Chase. He was rated high, but not high enough out of HS. No. I’m not comparing him to Chase as a player.

Sampson answered production questions this year with around 75-80 catches for approx 1,200 yards and 19 TD. That is with a very balanced offense…not a pass happy one.

Only real knock is he can get stronger and add some good weight. The only WR I’ve seen on film that one could argue is better is Branch, but he’s a very different type WR.
It's insane. Go look at the history of Louisiana WRs. The fact that one isn't considered a 5 star every year is criminal.

bad take. I like Parker, but the difference in production will be huge on the field.

Does it really matter? It’s kind of like the rat poison Saban talks about. How motivated do you think these young men will be after they’ve been disrespected by dropping their star rating?

You don’t think these underrated and downgraded 4stars will prove themselves on the field against Bama and UGA’s 5 stars?

It’ll play out on the field.

I actually agree with this and Toviano's best position might not even be CB, it could be S or a guy who plays both. Parker deserves to be ranked MUCH higher than he is. He'll end up being the best WR in this class, imo.

Bc it’s just a coincidence I’m sure. The recruiting sites are filled with people who have no rooting interests or hidden agendas.

They are all objective and professional.

It’s the Tiger bump…it’s kinda like the Bama bump but completely different.
