Why do so many of our 5 stars get downgraded after committing? Happens every year.

Bc it’s just a coincidence I’m sure. The recruiting sites are filled with people who have no rooting interests or hidden agendas.

They are all objective and professional.

Jalen Brown was ranked a lot higher before committing

I don’t think he’s a 5 star player either

Toviano should be though. Maybe Womack. Parker should be the highest rated WR. His ranking is criminal

Who gives a shite. We beat Bama a year after 35 Scholly players and a band aid roster. The Bama bump hurts them if the player isn't that good.

Sampson is a 5 star. He’s just not a consensus one. Most have him rated high enough to not look bad when he excels. Kinda like Jamar Chase. He was rated high, but not high enough out of HS. No. I’m not comparing him to Chase as a player.

Sampson answered production questions this year with around 75-80 catches for approx 1,200 yards and 19 TD. That is with a very balanced offense…not a pass happy one.

Only real knock is he can get stronger and add some good weight. The only WR I’ve seen on film that one could argue is better is Branch, but he’s a very different type WR.

Parker is underrated, but he shouldn’t be rated ahead of Sampson.

They are completely different, but Parker is better. Both should be in the top 125 nationally

So let's go down this tunnel.

If there is really a conspiracy to make sure Alabama has the best recruiting classes by bumping players who commit to them, that would mean their players aren't as good as projected.

Which would mean their results on the field would show lesser teams than projected. But they've won almost a national championship every other year since 2009.

Alabama and now Georgia have the best recruiting in the nation and it's why they are so good. There isn't a conspiracy to bump their players and drop ours. and if there was, it wouldn't matter anyway, because our players would be just as good as they were without the false drop.

247 has Sampson has 43rd nationally, and WR8.

On3 even higher. 36th & WR6.

I’m not sure what the beef is or why that star matters. I’m not sure I would call that ‘safe’, That’s a lot of live up to.

Sampson dropped because he's still raw. Ranked purely on his upside. Similar to Brian Thomas. Brown dropped because he's a 1 trick pony to this point. Speed. He needs to refine himself once on campus. Both also dropped because others got better. WR has so many choices that are in reality preferentially ranked higher or lower depending on type. Happens all the time. Then there's also the politics.

Heard has consistently gotten higher. Why? Because his upside is now being combined with added strength, better feet and some polish. Also his position is rarer. Womack has risen or held. Because his upside is being polished a bit. And his position is rarer.

Skill players(RB, wr, DBs) drop because the options are plentiful. A 3* can be just as productive as a 4* and some 5*. Rare OL and DL types are boom or bust because their aren't as many choices. Like QBs. Only so many are gonna pan out with fewer to go around.
