Machoman and all of Jess Curtis' pals told us we'd rue the day (just kidding they don't know what the word rue means) that we took lowly Whit Weeks over super star LB-playing-10-yards-off-the-ball-who's-only-goal-was-coming-down-hill-and-creating-a-highlight Tacky Curtains.
I'd take 5 games of Whit Weeks over 3 seasons of Curtains.

not sure who was a bigger fraud, him or his dad who lobbied to stay in nonselect all while meeting every select qualification while at Many
He ruined LA HS football while doing the same thing he was bitching about other teams doing.
Then when we didn't pursue his mediocre nephew like he was the second coming, he threw a fit and tried to take his ball and go home. Then HE left Many for a bigger program

Yes, but Many High School has a very unique situation. They have 7 high schools in the parish but Many is the only school to offer football. Any kid in the parish, regardless of what school they attend, can play football for Many. Never seen or heard of anything like it.

Not sure how people missed evaluating this kid. Big, strong, and excellent straight line speed. The problem, however, was his lack of horizontal quickness. He could not move laterally, let alone change directions quickly. It’s a difference between playing LB on a D 1 team versus D II. Whit is a prime example as he has top level horizontal, speed, and lateral quickness. In fact, Whit’s older brother West has better horizontal speed and lateral quickness than Curtis.

There's a reason LSU wasn't going super hard after him. There's a reason UGA/Bama/LSU were not in his final group. It was all B1G teams and USC.
His family would come on this board and spout nonsense about how none of Whit Weeks' offers were committable. Well, I think it's fair to say that Curtis was the one with some noncommittable offers.
Slightly off topic, but that '23 Louisiana class had some big time busts.
1. Manning - bust (especially for the ranking
2. Heard - good
3. Derek Williams - meh. 20 tackles this year as a junior at Texas.
4. Sampson - bust
5. Holstein - decent
6. Curtis - bust
7. Jordan Matthews - transferred from Tenn and is now 3rd year player. reserve CB at Vandy
8. Kylin Jackson - transer and reserve DB at TCU
9. Jaiden Ausberry - gets good PT at ND.
10. Kaleb Jackson - transfer
11. Tyree Adams - Hopefully comes back and has a solid year

Edna Karr does the same thing in the New Orleans area.

quote:No. Karr is just a charter school that can pick kids out of the area. They also have to compete with the catholic league, De La Salle, Country Day, Newman, St. Martins, and then the rest of the inner city schools like Warren Easton, Landry-Walker, and Mac 35.

Many was the only football program in the area.

The Tacky Curtis camp really trolled LSU and this board about LSU's failure to pursue him as a franchise player. Funny, we don't hear much from them anymore...
