I know we locked down our DL already and OL has some big time guys on the horizon but we badly need dbs, receivers, and a QB yet listening to Sam Spiegelman on Jordy other than Sampson it was him talking up other schools then at the end kind of tentatively saying “LSU is still in it but had a lot of ground to make up”

What gives?

The time and attention went to the big guys on the lines. You can always get skill guys later, and that's what we're doing

I am extremely confident with shelton, (Spiegs said that there's confidence on the LSU side yesterday) and getting toviano on another visit was big with him

If Toviano only visits us and not A&M this weekend it’s very telling imo.

Do Trey Holly and Kaleb Jackson not count?

They are referring to uncommitted prospects

LSU seems to be picking up momentum on skill position guys now that their DL/OL picture is becoming more clear. They clearly focused around trenches first which is a very good perspective to have, imo. These guys will fall in place soon.

They have two WR and two RBs committed.

Then he needs to add "uncommitted" to the title. We've got the two best running backs in the state locked down. That's a pretty damn good start to skill position guys considering it's July.

Edit: Thanks, Lester, I forgot about Brown and Parker.

We took 1 WR in 2023. We have 8. We'll lose 2 after this season, and probably all of the rest after 2023.

We need a 2 deep full of WR in the 2023 class. The best will get significant snaps in 2023, and the rest will in 2024.

No doubt and while a vast majority of the LA skill players leave the state in the highest % of the last 20+ years ...

Just went through is over 8 months ago. Plenty of time to "align" with the Top 20 players in Louisiana. It is looking like the weakest signing of Top Louisiana players in decades.

I guess we need to fire Kelly then.

Nobody said to fire anybody.
But right now, our home base recruits are not overly supportive.

We have 2 WRs, 2 RBs and 5 DBs. So far we are doing pretty damn good in all 3 spots.

Looking at Prean and Sampson at WR, Jackson, Toviano, and flipping Williams at DB. All of these are still up in the air, but I believe we get both WRs and safety Jackson when it's all said and done. That will give up 4 WRs and 6 DBs.

Well, you know that if LSU isn’t landing a new player every other week, it’s just not good enough.

1) were so far away from nsd this is pointless to worry about.

2) why don't you provide a list of the top 20 LA players and tell us which ones we realistically had a shot at and are at a position of need.

It's just so fricking annoying reading these types of posts when in reality guys like Arch and Eli were never coming here regardless of what this staff could pull off. If the recruit is dead set on playing out of state or not wanting to compete against our current roster then how is that the staffs fault?

we have a stable full of RB's, WR's and QB's right now. yes, we need to replenish for the future but OL/DL takes more time to develop as a player and it is important to address those positions as a priority right now.
