I really like the class and we have the potential to get a some of the big names. LA is always underrated. I'm excited.

Fact.. the most talented state per capita along with Florida and possibly the least scouted state by the recruiting sites that produces college talent. There are some studs in this class

I believe the other state is Mississippi.

He was on Dubose's staff. That hasn't stopped other coaches from hiring him. He's just a good recruiter. He's not dirty because he was at Alabama during the Means scandal, or because USCe fans hate his recruiting ability.

That makes no sense, considering the amount of NFL prospects to come from Louisiana the last 10 years. Why would Mississippi, Tennessee, or Alabama be scouted any more than Louisiana?

Its pretty well known that Louisiana doesnt get scouted very much by the big recruiting sites..

So all those NFL guys were big-time 4 and 5 star players? No. Most of them werent hardly scouted

There have been a lot of highly recruited guys in the last 10-15 years from Louisiana, that became NFL draft picks and eventually were successful in the NFL. I don't know why LSU fans think the state of Louisiana is "not scouted" enough. Plenty of schools try to recruit in the state. If that's not enough proof, then I don't know what to tell you. You can go to any southern state, where small schools can't afford to promote their best players, and find stories about guys that were overlooked by "experts" that eventually became SEC and NFL stars.

Obviously the state is scouted by college coaches everybody knows that. Im referring to the lack of scouting and player evaluations from recruiting websites.. If the sites put more of an emphasis on scouting Louisiana prospects like they do Florida and Alabama, there would be more highly ranked kids from Louisiana year in and year out, especially this year. Im not even sure if you asked a Rivals writer who maybe 40% of our class was they could tell you. But if you asked Bama, State, A&M, or USC's coaches they would tell you the kid is a stud.

Im just trying to dispell any misconceptions from people on this board that think this is a "down-year" in Louisiana and this isnt a strong class overall.

I agree with Yamamma. Lsu easily has a top 10 class, especially if they finish with Vadal, Landon, Devall, Alford, and Nick James. You can also factor guys with limited film getting bumps, especially Derrick Raymond. The top 8 classes at the end IMO in no order will be:

Texas, Florida, FSU, Auburn, Michigan, Bama, lsu, OU

with Miami, USC, Clemson, ND, and A&M fighting to round out top 10.

USC will have limited schollys I believe.
I don't agree at all about tOSU.
tOSU will suffer from the obvious.

Derrick Raymond may be the best CB in the state, and no film exists on him. Ronnie Feist will display what I mean when I say these Louisiana kids get underrated every year in the Under Armour Game this year.

You say this..

nd no film exists on him.

Then this. It just doesn't work that way. Without any film there is no way anyone can make the first statement. Just don't go getting ahead of yourself.

Boys, settle down.

Damn it, there's enough arguing going on with Bama, Aubie and Aggie in here.

Now kiss and make up.

Who do you think Miami closes with that makes them a top 10 class?

IMO they would have to close with...

Bush
Goldman
Diggs

All 3 of those guys could legitimately go elsewhere.

I think what I said was Miami would be fighting with 4 other teams for 2 spots to round out the top 10. That's 5 teams for spots 9 & 10.

I still don't get the argument that Louisiana prospects are always underrated. It's not just Louisiana, but you see it across the South. Truth being told, there are many school districts that can't afford to produce film on their best prospects. There are plenty of cases in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and even Florida and Georgia, where kids fall through the cracks because of this. At least from an Alabama prospective, some of the best prospects are those that are "found" at camps in summer on campus. I'm sure LSU has similar stories. You don't seem to see this in Texas, California, and Ohio as much.

Well yeah. May not be down, just not last year. Plus i have a feeling with all this rivals and 247 shite they just dont have the resources to send people everywhere, or just not have made the big sweep through LA. Shea and Jamie newberg have made rounds through LA. They like a lot of our guys. They are the guys that pointed me out to the draymonds.

The LA guys are probably underrated. Also, this may be more appropriate for a new thread, but remember, a lot of time remains before NSD. Few would have thought in July of the years PP7 & Sam Montgomery were recruited, that either would wind up with LSU. Likewise, there could well be out of staters this year who will begin taking LSU more seriously as this football season progresses.

0U won't have a Top 10 class this year. They are taking a VERY small class. Probably around 16 players. They will have a good class but not enough players to be ranked high. Again, helping prove recruiting rankings don't always tell the whole story
