What are the top 10 recruiting classes for 2011 and will LSU be in it.

If the class is capped at 21 then it's not looking too good especially with the lack of star power in-state.

Yeah this looks to be a down year for LA.

If LSU can land Avery Johnson, Landon Collins, and a 6.0 out of state guy we'll be in very very good shape to hang around #6-7.

I don't see any reason LSU doesn't land both Johnson and Collins. If NSD were today, they're both Tigers.

Secure Avery, keep Devall and Collins in-state, have guys like Derrick Raymond and anyone who plays in all-star games get bumps, get Vadal, Nick James, and a big-time QB (Winston or Alford) and thats a top 8 class IMO. Thats not including any surprises that might come about if we have a championship season and guys come in for officials that we arent talking about much right now.

We will be fine

I think we have really good talent just some unknown talent. I think more of our guys will blow up via camps, and senior seasons. I wouldnt say its a down year in La there is much more talent then the star rankings show...

Most likely top 10 in no particular order:

FSU - Jimbo has been on a rampage and is poised to win the ACC
Texas - owns state of TX
UF - best program in FL
Bama - almost guaranteed
Auburn - off of a NC season
OU - if not TX then OU and also in play for Kiel/DGB
tOSU - probably no sanctions yet
Miami - Dade County + better head coach
USC - owns SoCal

On the edge:

LSU - owns LA but limited schollies
Clemson - Dabo recuits like a stud even with bad seasons
USCe - Most likely another trip to the SECCG

Not a down year in overall talent but there is no elite player other than Collins this year. Those are the guys that get you in the top 10 because they are worth so much in point value.

I doubt Miami is top 10. They have some good players, and could potentially get Deon Bush, Stefon Diggs, and Eddie Goldman, but top to bottom their class isn't that deep. Plus they don't have much room to improve their class, as they already have 19 commits

I've always thought very highly of Al Golden and if he could just lock down southern FL, a top 10 class is guaranteed in most years.

You may want to check out Miami's class before you put them in the top 10. They only have a few spots left, and their class is anything but impressive right now.

Also, tOSU has lost a few recruits already, and if sanctions come, they could lose more.

Watch for Indiana with Kiel. I do think OU gets DGB though.

IMO Diggs and Goldman have said nothing about UM that make me feel like they end up there.

I just said "may", because Miami is presumably high on each one's list, so there's a chance they could get them

Not too long until he's back on Alabama's staff, and recruiting for Saban.

He's gonna get another shot as a HC at a lesser program due to his recruiting prowess. He's gonna be another Ron Zook. I'm not even so sure he's gonna get fired. After FSU, VT, and Clemson, it's a pretty big dropp-off in the ACC. I won't be surprised if he pulls off 9 wins.
