quote:yeah...I don't believe for one bit that this was true. Let's say it was true though, how could a win over LSU restore you faith in the shite tastic coaching job of TAMU? Has anybody seen the drafts TAMU has? Not only do they do a shitty job of producing high draft picks, they do a shitty job of producing, NFL stars and coaching up the top 6-7 recruiting classes they've had the past 4+ years.
Staying. LSU was contacted via backchanels. But the win vs LSU gave them tremendous boost. Morale and direction of the program is at an all time high. The recruits have bought in. Unprecedented what a single victory can do to a program.

Basically this, but some of these kids look at short term gain and just have that confidence that despite the lacking coaching, they’ll develop due to their high school performance, but little do they know. Watching Perkins and that first season success must be rough for some of these kids…but he was wise enough.

He and some other key players definitely reached out to LSU and an NIL deal was put together for him at his families request. Enough said
And then what?
What key players?

Can’t see him coming and admitting he made a mistake. A lot about the money and a lot about pride. Further I don’t think he wants LSU or even regrets not coming. I don’t think he cared about winning other than beating his home state team. LSU will get Louisiana kids that loved LSU and developed at schools after we didn’t offer.

Sure kicked our faces into the dirt. Embarrassing loss.

Matthews went for the money, plain and simple. He was not heart broken or torn. He simply leveraged the schools against each other to get a pay day and took the highest offer.
That is fine, his choice, his life. I just hate the fake act these kids and their families try to put on that they had a hard decision. You picked money and no one can tell you not to do so. Own your decision and not be a fake victim.
Matthews should stay at A&M along with the others and languish with their money. In the end, you don’t want those types of players, at least not a ton of them to take control of your program like happened at A&M.

Lack of proper development will be apparent in this “historic” class. I’m glad Perkins made the right move and is learning the right way under House and company. Wish all those dudes at A&M the best though in terms of next level prospects, but choosing the additional buck under Jimbo isn’t going to help.

I've said this about iota for a while. I think he definitely is connected to inside info in some way but just doesnt understand what to sit on and what to share. A lot of stuff simply doesnt materialize that he talks about on here, even if it is "talked about" behind the scenes.
Fact is a ton of stuff talked about behind the scenes simply doesnt happen, and that includes OUR players here who are doing the same with other schools (Boutte with Bama last year for instance).
Some stuff just shouldnt be shared on such public message boards like this one. Mods on the premium boards can be pretty well connected and hear the same stuff but they have a better understanding of what to filter to the board to share vs. keep quiet with the experience they have over the years.
There's some premium boards where that's not the case and I can tell you those mods get it bad from their own fans often because they simply overshare.

Did Matthews even play against LSU this year?

Posted on 12/8/22 at 9:39 am to sstig
He didn’t play in a couple of their games at the end of the season.

Right, sunshine pumpers get a free pass no matter how cloudy the REAL info is
Last I remember he was spouting Derek Williams flip news like he knew something
KNEW NOTHING!!!
DW has expressed publicly one ounce of smoke that he was flipping, matter of fact 2 days later confirmed he was Texas solid

Doesn’t A&M pay their NIL deals out around January 1 or something. Going to me interesting to see if some of their bigger name guys go into the portal in the spring.

If true, let them stay 3-4 years there. Don’t want kids only interested in dollars. I get it it’s appealing to all but that can’t be the ONLY factor in their recruitment and if it is I’d run the other way
NIL money is now part of the equation. Like it or not, the kids are going to be making decisions based upon being paid NOW.
Many of these players come from families that struggle financially. The money horse has left the barn and won't be coming back.
