We’ve gotten some good recruits from the State of Georgia over the years, but it seems to be getting harder and harder with UGA and Kirby Smart being a powerhouse right now. They’re absolutely dominant in the defensive front seven every year because of how many great DL and LB they’re signing.

What can Brian Kelly and company do to turn the tide?

Their facilities are way better than ours, IMO.

Keep outperforming them offensively by the long shot we’ve been outperforming them (because their offense has been a joke under Kirby Shart) and get better than we’ve been lately on defense and we would kick their arse 95% of the time. Kirby can convince boosters to spend money. That’s where his usefulness as a coach ends.

That’s unfortunate. I don’t know much about their facilities, so I hope that’s not true.

Need great players to win a natty. Which came first? The chicken or the egg?

Even Nick Saban took 4 years to build up enough great personnel to win a natty when he was here. Knowing how to somehow get great players and win the recruiting battles is the key.

Apparently that “joke” has been dominating opponents and winning multiple natty’s over the las three years.

Before Kirby got there , all we heard locally was people bitch about how piss poor their facilities were under Mark Richt. I remember they didn't have an indoor facility and that was the main thing. Since I haven't heard those gripes in years, I guess they got that fixed.

I was depressed about Sed Van Pran going to Uga.

I think we made up for it with DJ Chester at the same position.

Really, just let brain kelly handle things. Recruting is going very well.

In 2024, Georgia signed 5 of the Top 25 players in Georgia.

They definitely dominate in recruiting, but not in-state.

To start we need to double our recruiting budget. GA spends almost 5 times what we do in house on recruiting. In 2023 GA sent over 4 million. LSU spent $742K

USA today article on spending.

They need to do something with the lobby of the Football operations center. It looks like shite. The trophy room is dated and looks old. Also the sign above the Trophy room has holes in it and it's faded. I know that doesn't mean much i the scheme of things but the little details matter. I remember Skip saying he knew if he could win a road series by how the opposing teams stadium looked. If the backstop nets had holes and they had trash laying around it was a win. Same thing applies here.

In 2019 we beat them, O took his foot off the gas, much like he did with Ok the next game and against Clemson in the NC. After we beat uga, I told the people there, they were getting a new OC, they did, Todd Monken. Todd was there for 3 years, Kirby got good use of him. Todd moved back into the NFL.
Certain coaches need very good coordinator’s, Kirby’s one. Kirby missed this season, we’ll see what he does from here on out.
