What are the biggest recruitments in LSU FB history?

Who/What are the biggest recruitments in the history of LSU football to y’all? I started following recruiting as a mainstay in 2014, so some can share stories on players before then.
I would have to say Leonard Fournette, and Kevin Faulk are the biggest recruitments in the history of the program.
Fournette being the best player in America and a once in a generation type back, has to be there for me. I remember this recruitment vividly as a kid. Although major team success didn’t follow, Fournette was thought to be one of the best RB’s to ever come out of HS.
I am too young to remember Kevin Faulk at LSU, but this recruitment let the whole state know it was okay to come to LSU again. Faulk’s recruitment put LSU back on the map, and Faulk is still the All Time leading rusher in SEC history.
If Bryce Underwood commits tomorrow and sticks with LSU, I believe his recruitment is the biggest recruiting win in the history of the program. Even over Fournette and Faulk, being that Underwood is from Michigan, and a potential game changing QB.

Kevin Faulk \thread
Kevin could have gone anywhere in the country. He chose to stay home. He started the comeback of LSU football and showed other LA recruits you could stay home, go to LSU and be successful. There may be bigger star commitments but IMO Faulk started the turnaround that was the golden era of LSU football for the next 20 years.

There can be arguments made for guys like Marcus Spears and Marquis Hill in the 2001 class. But without Faulk, there's no example to point to for those guys. He paved the way.

Faulk was huge because it signaled LSU trying to reestablish dominance in recruiting the state. Bringing back the magic.
Fournette is currently the highest-rated recruit ever but Bryce Underwood will be higher. Dakorien Moore will be tied with Russell Sheppard, who is currently second all-time.
So if the 2025 class delivers on all those two guys, then the guy who can't recruit, according to some tards on this board, will deliver LSU the highest and third highest recruits of all time.

RB Harvey Williams was pretty damn big as was RB Garry James.
QB Bert Jones was a big deal in the 70s.

Oh, yeah, and the late QB Butch Duhe was gigantic in 1970.

By the same standard Sheppard is also the most overrated recruit of all time.

Russell Sheppard
Was the #1 WR and the #2 player in the 2018 class. Another example of Les hardly playing him while he was here but is still in the NFL with the giants

Have you see Sheppard's high school film? He was literally unstoppable. Not his fault Les Miles is an imbecile.

I think Sheppard was just such an outstanding athlete but had no real place to play, the word was he just could not master the playbook at QB. If he had come in as a wide receiver, maybe his perceived value at LSU would have been greater.

We've won 3 titles since the turn of the century. He would be a huge pick up but I would have to revisit this after his career here before I claim it's a bigger thing than Faulk or Fournette.

It would have to be. Number 1 player. Number one qb commits to lsu. I'm sure some of us thought we would never see the day.

He was in the 2009 recruiting class not 2018
