This is a pretty poor excuse. If he wasn't a great player he wouldn't of done anything. Instead he came right in as a true freshman and put up 12 TDs.

so you're saying in an offense like the spread option, or a pro-I, he would put up the same type of numbers along with quality depth at the position, he would likely had put up the same numbers?

yeah, Prom. Everyone succeeds in a spread passing offense. Everyone fails in a traditional offense. Got it.

Read my above post. No way he puts up the numbers he put this year in a different situation.

He would have had a hard time seeing the field at WR at LSU. Hell, Holliday is listed at WR but he never sees the field at that position because of his height.

We are looking at a guy that if offered would have been a kick returner exclusively. Miles and company probably just thought there were/would be better athletes out there for that position.

what I keep saying is a guy that clearly seems talented on the field still lacked offers from the big name schools. Maybe there was a reason for that, sort of like Michael not getting offers from LSU, UT, and OU.

Maybe there were grade issues, attitude issues, something

don't you think MSU could have used him? why didn't they offer?

No, I didn't say that at all. I said he came in as a true freshman and put up big numbers because guess what, he's a really good player! DUH

I'm not saying he would of came here and put up 800 yards receiving, 400 yards rushing and 12 total TD. But he definitely could been an impact player at some point, if not starting this very year. Because it was clear to at least one service (Rivals) and anyone who watched him he was going to be a special player on the next level.

yes, clearly all i've brought to this "debate" is namecalling while you told us that we could never off Johnson because Saban offered a West Monroe kid that went to Tulane once.

Tristan Smith went to Salmen.

No, I am making a relevant comparison where a coach was overly influenced by the championship game. Since you brought it up.

I understand you point, but DJ lit it up all year not just the championship game.

I was just addressing Tigercat's statement for those who are not familiar with DJ's senior year.

ME TOO

that was a pretty talented year in DA DOME. Saw spears and whitworth that year, both were men among boys.

some brother from Lab sitting behind us swore spears was all FSU and would never consider LSU

No one is saying that, in fact I think almost everywhere here thinks we should have offered him.

It just doesn't mean that Miles is idiot for not offering him.
