Did DJ camp anywhere the summer before his senior year?

look at his offers? yeah thats the end all. Anyone that saw him in the dome last year wanted LSU to offer. Miles is there for that weekend every year kissing HS coaches' asses so he shouldn't have missed it. It wasn't like he was busy searching for a good defensive coordinator at the time.

And yeah he would've likely redshirted here since we dont care about putting 2 KRs out there that can return but that doesnt mean shite. Dude has 2,000 and 12 TDs this year between rushing, recieving and kickoff returns.

Regardless of position vs position as you guys want to make it, Miles clearly throws out several random brain fart schollies a year, it just sucks they all go to retards, deep snappers and kickers that can't kick.

Its pretty telling that a kid everyone can tell is pretty talented lacks quality offers don't you think? or were all college coaches just ignorant to it?

I tend to agree. There are always some kids that look like projects from the beginning, i.e. JD Lott, Rocky, Mark Sanders, and this year that kid from Dothan. No reason to miss out on this kid.

No one in the SEC offered a kid who was the most visable player for the 5A champions. A kid they would have all had tape on.

And you think its proof that Miles specifically screwed up big because you are ready to pass judgment on some freshman and a soon to be freshman. Get real.

Doesn't his play this year prove that wrong or do you think he and Brian Kelly have been going on a serial killing spree and thats why he didn't get offers?

all facts. Kid broke out at the title game. Miles doesn't use that weekend to schmooze coaches? Miles didn't lazily promote two scrubs around that time last year?

OK, how about this. Nick Saban goes against his first judgement on Tristan Smith and offers him after the championships. Only to humiliatingly lose him to Tulane, and it turns out Smith can't even cut it there.

But heaven forbid Miles' gut feeling is the same as all the other coaches in the SEC.

in a wide open, fast paced offense that lacked WR's. Of course he's going to play and succeed.

And you call me a ranter? You must not pay much attention to SEC football. Ole Miss, for one example, has plenty of LSU scraps from Louisiana. Guys MUCH, MUCH less visible than Johnson was.

Yea, I am the "ranter." You are the one with the idiotic agenda.

so you dont offer the best kids in case they might turn you down for Tulane? back to the rant

No, I am making a relevant comparison where a coach was overly influenced by the championship game. Since you brought it up.

Yea, I bet you don't want people around that actually think about what they are talking about and bring examples to the table.

Unlike you: Miles no offer guy I like! Miles idiot!

Yea, scared off by someone who's debating skills are limited to name calling. That will be the day.

This is a pretty poor excuse. If he wasn't a great player he wouldn't of done anything. Instead he came right in as a true freshman and put up 12 TDs.

for what team and against who? Who knows how he would do in the SEC or how quickly he could see the field at LSU. At the end of the day, recruiting is an art, not just a science based on "measurables," and I'll leave it to the experts (coaches, not recruiting sites) to determine who needs to be offered and who doesn't.

Just remember, at some point it gets to be a numbers game and some players will get left out. That is so because we are no longer in the days of unlimited scholarships and major programs taking every good player they can get their hands on. Given the limited numbers allowed, you can point to players in any given year who arguably should have been offered and who likely could have contributed to a program. That's the reality of recruiting: Some good LA kids will not get the opportunity to play at LSU. I wish that weren't the case but it is.

yes, clearly all i've brought to this "debate" is namecalling while you told us that we could never off Johnson because Saban offered a West Monroe kid that went to Tulane once.

Clearly Miles was right in passing on a kid right in front of his face because Urban Meyer and Nick $ATAN didn't offer him. Disregard his 2,000 yards and 12 TDs as a true freshman.
