how many big tall outside WRs do we have? You cant play 7 of them at once, i'm fairly sure of that.
LaFell
Terrance Toliver
Deangelo Peterson
and Molton
That's pretty much it. I guess you can throw in Chris Tolliver as another WR that can stretch the field, but I would assume he could play the slot as well.
Jackson, Holliday, J. Taylor, and the two Mitchells are all slot guys. Along with John Williams.

so we couldn't use Damaris Johnson because Drayton Calhoun is gonna be on the roster next year?
so we couldn't use Christine Michael or any other RB for that matter because they plan on landing Seastrunk next year?
I'm sure it's not the first time something like that has happened. Probably won't be the last.

Damaris Johnson vs. Phillip Livas
who you got?
who you got?

Murderer's row right there. I see why we didn't offer. Add Jhyren taylor to the list of people he should've gotten an offer over last year as well. And Chris Mitchell is not a slot WR.

are you trying to prove my point?

Do they even recruit LA?
Actually read a good article about this. Meyer basically said you couldn't compete with LSU for LA players so he didn't put alot of effort recruiting there. Wish he would tell Saban to stop wasting his time.

I figure Saban will EVENTUALLY figure it out. But it will take some time. RR, JJ, etc...are more big LA blows to his recruiting ego.

Didn't Jhyryn pretty much only get an offer because of his brothers?

because he got on the field at Tulsa, who's WR depth wasn't all that great to begin with this year, he should have gotten an offer over Taylor?
I see I got in late, based on what?

my point was that it happens every year. You honestly don't think that schools feel that they have a good shot with a Jr recruit that they feel like they can pass on another the year before?
Posted on 1/7/09 at 11:48 am to BilJ
based on being the thrown in recruit with his year and a half younger brother. also had very questionable grades which was a plus for fringe recruits last year apparently.

you were the one who cited Drayton Calhoun as a reason we didn't need Damaris Johnson

they shouldve recruited this kid. no way around it. and it isnt hindsight 20/20 either. it was obvious to everyone last year dude had serious skill.

ok maybe so but plenty of other SEC schools passed as well. This shite happens every year

Rivals was the only service to get this kid right.

thank you
But Meyer and Saban didnt offer a kid from Destrehan, LA either so no fault to Miles per Bilj.

look at his offers max. Maybe there's more to the story. Call me crazy for not overreacting and calling our staff dumb for missing out.
though he more than likely would be sitting the bench here and people would be bitching "why did we get take this 2 star kid when we were lining up a super class for next year"
