That secondary was embarrassing tonight and we didn’t really sign any studs on the dline and secondary last class or what we have so far in this year’s class. I’m really worried about the dline and secondary going forward with how bad we recruited at those positions the last few years. Matt House gotta go and he can take Kerry Cooks with him. We just need better recruiters on staff and that falls on Brian Kelly.

That’s the problem.
The starting secondary are ALL transfers.

We need to get some dogs out of high school.

Well, that’s the other problem. We can’t sign them out of high school so we have to go to the portal. This shite gives me a headache lol

relying on the portal is why we are in the shape we are in.

we need to recruit and develop those recruits.

And I don’t see it changing anytime soon. I don’t see any difference makers at either position in the 24’ class. Jordan Jefferson looks promising but does he come back? How the hell do we convince Wingo? L.Welch is clearly a bust. Denver Harris is not what we thought. Andre Sam is the only guy who looks decent & he will be gone. Imagine if Caleb Williams doesn’t like the team with the 1st pick and comes back to school! It’s not off the table. We probably will get our a** kicked against USC to open 24’ season.

I think this thread is more a resignation that Kelly and company are utterly failing in HS recruiting and all we can do is this annual transfer shuffle.

The root of the problem is coaching. Not Kelly but the assistants at these positions or lack there of

Wished Corey Raymond would have been retain and Kelly even said this off-season, dline coach is right under HC in importance. Been an unfortunate round of turnover there

Still don’t have dline coach

I think we have enough "plug in's" from Marshall, Southeastern and ULL now. Just get into the "bidding war" and keep our best in Louisiana.

D-line coach is at least excusable given the unfortunate circumstances.

I agree that Raymond was the biggest loss on the staff. Florida recruiting and DBs look better than us right now

Robert Steeples (we'll see-recent recruiting looks promising)

Hey, Sulphersdumbest, go to FL and lick Corey's nutsack. You do it on here all the time. Go, just go please...

Our CB’s were arse under Raymond the last couple of years and Raymond is why we are in the shape we are in now. We kept him too damn long.

Kylin Jackson is hurt / Toviano can’t get on the field for some reason

Have multiple top 100/200 players committed in the secondary in this class

Good news is Maason Smith might be coming back for another year at this rate...

Got to see a glimpse of Womack last night as well.

He should come back but most likely will choose to move on regardless of draft position.

I think there are some on the roster (Toviano, Stamps, Hughes), but I'm guessing they aren't ready yet. Anyone remember the status of JK Johnson?

Hoping to see L Welch get his chance. Alexander & Chestnut should not be locks out there.

The secondary recruiting is fine all in all. Lot of talent in this class back there.
DL is a discussion that has been had and will be had until its fixed. Step 1, hire a coach that can't be negative recruited and is actually coaching. Lindsay's situation, while unfortunate, isn't an LSU problem. It was a lazy hire that wasnt great to begin with. Truth is sometimes callous in nature. When telling it is the faux pas then you've figured out the problem. Step 2, hire somebody, anybody that can close on the trail. Evaluation doesn't seem to be the issue. Closing out recruitments does.
Kelly hasn't truly felt our wrath yet. It's coming if he doesn't correct the issues we have. Of course, the alternative is we will be paying our 3rd straight coach millions not to coach here. And we wonder why we can't compete in NIL. Miles, Orgeron, now Kelly, plus the assistants we pay not to coach, bilking millions from donors that only have so many to give away. But our 19.95 a month is gonna fix it. LSU football, the grift that keeps on giving.
