Ole Miss now has more NIL money than LSU? Seems the golden era of LSU football is coming to an end

I really don’t understand our lack of portal defensive success.

It may not work, but Kiffin sure made the portal work for him last year. They went 10-2, with losses to Bama and Georgia.

Defense has been Kiffin's problem in the past, but they're bringing in defensive help through the portal, while signing four 4-star defensive linemen.

They're not "just little Ole Miss" any more.

Facts… Nolan had 1 tackle in our game this year. Not exactly worried about this one. Selfish players tend to quit when they get what they want

Step back from the ledge and look at the whole picture. They don’t. Just look at their last two recruiting classes. They just spend every dime they have on a few portal players every year.

We spread it around a lot more. I’m sure we paid for the portal guys over the last two years. And I f you don’t think we’re throwing some extra cash to keep some guys like Wingo and Smith here for another year instead of going pro then you don’t have a handle on how NIL really works now.

Temporarily. Ole Miss can’t be his final resting place.

They have a soft schedule next year, experienced qb coming back in dart, and deployed all of their resources on the transfer portal. All arguably good decisions.

I would kill for LSU to have a tenth of their success with recruiting defensive players from the portal.

But good enough to beat LSU with a Heisman QB.

What he said! We lost to Ole Miss this year and the way they are accumulating portal talent, they definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with. I read this guy is getting 35k a month so I do not really know if he is worth it. However, when you are paying coaches multiple millions, and they don't wear a helmet or shoulder pads on the field. With the new rules on unlimited number or portal transfers and no sit out period schools with the deep pockets going to be king on the mountain.

That may be. But are we even trying at NIL shite? This is getting embarrassing.

look at Ole Miss's high school recruiting class and you'll see what they're spending all their NIL on. They are trying to win now, and trust me, they can't afford to do this every year. They can't afford it money wise or team building wise.

I heard something about them taking Pete Golding off high school recruiting for the moment and have him focusing strictly on the portal.

We just have to counter it with superior oline talent. We handled him at TAM this season. He has 2 years left and probably plays 1.

same people complaining now would have a stroke if our HS recruiting was ranked #18. Pississippi is striking when the iron is hot (damn near everyone is returning for them + top tier portal pickups), good for them. 2025 should be the year for us anyway.
