Thus, Jay didn’t get his first choice. That’s ok, doesn’t mean he can’t play. Just means we didn’t hit on the plan we wanted and has to pivot. You hope at a place like LSU, you don’t have to pivot much in baseball when it comes to players. Usually not ideal.

Putting together some stats on Dickinson and this stood out:
He had more Multi Hit Games (31) than total strikeouts (28) last season.

Sounds like a perfect top of the lineup guy. I know we haven’t ran a whole lot the last 2 years, but his SB numbers were encouraging as well.
That 1 strikeout in 41 ABs in the Cape is crazy.

I can't say who is better for certain, but I've been skeptical of Kilen the entire time. I like Dickinson's profile.
Read an interview this morning that he did in the Cape Cod league, apparently he was a preferred walk-on at UVU. Complete slip through the cracks guy that Eddie Smith found and was able to give a chance to.
He's had a .200 ISO both years in college. In two years at UVU he's had nearly as many walks as strikeouts.
I think leading off Milam with Dickinson hitting second will provide a lot of fun opportunities.
