No one on this board knows how this will turn out. He did not win all those games for no reason. He could be the best ever, who knows and also you guys should be happy, we are not wasting a scholly.

I said " I mean I am happy for you". I won't apologize for having an opinion after the fact.

You're right I wasn't. But I haven't felt the need to discuss who I know in the East Texas region. And then you want to throw out that you were recruited to be the internet badass of the night.

Not at all trying to be a badass.... I was a nothing athlete relatively. It wasn't about me. But you were, in your way, shitting on a player. It just wasn't called for and I was merely trying to provide you an example.

I'm not shitting on a kid first off. Expressed my opinion on if he wanted to get realistic playing time. If you want to get excited then that's great and . But a few months ago this some of this board thought that LSU had a long shot at the #1 QB in the country from Cali. I don't believe that many walk on's will have much success at the QB position. Baker Mayfield's don't happen that often. Hope your boy proves me wrong

ETA: Shows two offers per 247. Arkansas-Monticello and Southern. Maybe he would rather just be a walk on and attend LSU that’s great. I was speaking only about actually playing time for LSU.

He also has a preferred walk-on Offer from LA TECH........Kid is a TIGER, took the best collegiate route for him. Good for him, he could go to any school in the nation as $$$ isn’t an issue.....But he’s a TIGER.

And that’s awesome. I’m strictly talking about impact on the field.

Kinda my point about also being a preferred walk-on Offer for LA TECH. He will never see the field at LSU.

That’s just a fact

U-Highs back-up is/was better than JM. He looked BAD vs Catholic last year

And obviously you’re either a Gordon shill or just naive to the situation. This is a classic “I’m on the team because of who my dad is” and that’s fine doesn’t bother me one bit. Im sure he will be very serviceable practice QB. Just don’t act like LSU chose him out of the many other better prospects and more deserving QBs out there who aren’t getting a serious look from programs. Adding to the you don’t know the game statement, it’s way too early in the recruiting process to be giving walk on opportunities to QBs.

If you don’t know why we want this kid on the team then I don’t know what to tell you.

Wasting a scholly on a kid whose best offer was to Southern ? In no universe would LSU consider giving him a scholly for next year. The kid is a decent HS qb, but make no mistake. He got the nod over many other decent HS qb's because of a factor others have already mentioned in this thread.

Really? When is the appropriate time for a preferred walkon QB?

He won all those games because his dad sponsored "disadvantaged" kids to go to U High. By chance the "disadvantaged" kids were D1 football recruits.

Happy for the kid.

But keep an eye on his dad.

Gordon “got it done” at U-High, and I don’t want to see anything sour go down at LSU with his $$ and recruits.
