Not saying you can force it but if you consistently lose recruits to a rival something isn’t right. Besides Bergeron who’s the last big Louisiana recruit to stay instate? And I know Louisiana isn’t a rich recruiting hot bed but still

The pitcher, Meylan, just committed to OK State and Gajewski

Will she look at the trio that just entered the portal from OU? Needs to add some power too

Has anyone heard any talk about visitors? I punched out after the North Carolina loss and forgot about softball being over.
I would think our Washington transfer that pitched this season was put in a good word

I’ve heard Avery Hodge has some connections with LSU from her time before college, so could be a possibility. She was apparently down to Oklahoma & A&M, so she could also be looking to head to College Station.
Our team next year is lacking in experience and leadership, so a player like her with the WCWS experience, would be big.

Who will take over the short stop duties next year?
Posted on 6/11/24 at 12:04 pm to smp4lsu
They don’t have 1 hence the Hodge post above

OH OK..Thanks
Thought might be Daniel or Jones if Beth stands pat.

Chaffin to Miss State
357 any word of potential visits coming up? I know they were hosting an elite camp these past few days, so wondering if they were holding off until after it ended

Guess that means she is still an SEC calibre Pitcher. Looking forward to see what she does against her former club next season. I hope we play them

She gonna do great unless BT gets portal kids, the current position player roster is more like southeastern than a SEC team excluding Redoutey, Bergeron and Coffey. It will be the worse softball season that I can recall….Be prepared for no regional and SEC losing record. It must be the blind leading the blind in the softball offices

You don't think Daniel is a starter?

She isn’t a SEC player, not close
Posted on 6/13/24 at 8:27 pm to Casualobserver1985
She hit .300 in the SEC. Her issue was fielding. This reminds me of the genius that said Coffey wasn't a SEC player her freshman year.

We all have our opinions, how many at bats in sec? 33 with 10 hits as a slapper…that’s a winning formula lol. Btw, how many slappers OU have? None.. Texas none, Florida 1 elite speed, Duke none they made Jennings swing away, Stanford 1, Ok State none, Bama 1 , UCLA 1… slapping is going away with elite teams..

33. About 40% of a conference load. She hit .300 overall.

LSU went .500 in the SEC with Newland, Pleasants, Gueterriz, Briggs and Petty, who replacing them? Without portal it’s going to be ugly imo.

looks like LSU might be the favorite to land one of the best outfielders in the portal in Alana Johnson out of Washington.
this past season she was a PAC 12 second team, hit .336 with13 home runs. she has 2 years of eligibility
seems to be between us, MISS St, and A&M. hoping that Lynch can help get her to make that Seattle to BR journey as she’d be a really great pickup with experience

They went .500 in conference because those players did not produce in conference games. They were 10th in runs scored in conference play. There’s really not much room to fall as far as conference results.

So you’re saying that in the 12 wins it was the others that won those games? That’s hilarious…there is a long way to fall like from 12-12 to 8-16 or worse…that’s what you’re looking at without major portal help
