How is he defensively? He’s what I think a lefty John Pearson would look like at La Tech statistically.

Milam staying and the second baseman from Florida coming, almost makes Hawsey impossible, especially if Jay really sees Braun projected at 1st base. If I was him I would go to where I could play and as it stands right now there is not a lot of room for him to be an every day player at LSU next year.
This makes the only real infield position open at 3rd base. If the guy from Texas State or if Ruckert shows more range and athleticism than Pearson with an adequate batting average, that may basically delegate Pearson to a rotation DH role or a rotation at 3rd.
It's possible they could rotate Serna on some days he is not catching at first base if they need to find him more playing time when not catching or at DH to get Pearson reps at DH.
Point is there does not appear to be room for a 1st baseman. Unless for some reason they decide to send Braun to the outfield. But he was recruited and projected at 1st base and the outfield he played this year was mostly to get him on the field because he was highly recruited and Jay wanted to get him at bats and to develop at the plate early.

I thought he already committed to Ole Miss? Sorry if I misheard.

He did commit to Ole Miss. his mom reposted it. Federico acknowledged his excitement to have his former (WM) Rebel teammate as his Rebel reammate again.

Well information was good. There was contact and communication, and money was mentioned, but I think it was from hHawsey’s side. Maybe LSU wasn’t going to pay what he wanted and it fell through at last minute. Apologies
