Who in their right mind takes anything Trent Dilfer has to say seriously?
Posted on 1/17/12 at 7:21 pm to nicholastiger
Yes ....
And 6 TD's as a backup. We sure don't have any QB's going pro.
Of course J. Russell was a flop, but I don't think we've given Krag enough time to show his wares. We'll never know how far J. Lee developed since he was riding the pine the last half of the season and the post season.
His story could have been truly special given the chance.

He is accurate. You really can't blame top flight QB's for questioning their future when considering LSU as their school. Krags did a great job, but he isn't being allowed the reins. Les Miles offense is whey we struggle getting top flight QB's. It wasn't clear to me until the BCS MNC.
he is right for now...
time will tell with the QBs we have in house.
If we hinder there development, it will send deafening messages to all other QBs who really think they have a chance at the NFL

If you're talking to a recruit and you try and bring up Flynn as your proof that Dilfer is wrong, you're bringing up someone who played when that recruit was 12.
I'm not saying that Flynn isn't an example of success. Just pointing out reality when you're talking to a 17 year old kid.
It isn't helping the schools image or recruiting.
I don't give 2 shits about Trent Dilfer.
I care about LSU.
Even if you people here don't like Miles or the decisions he has made, this witch hunt is only hurting the school we all love and want to see succeed.
So yes, I will defend LSU and hopefully those people who call themselves fans will do the same.
It's time to cast a favorable light on the program instead of tearing it down at every turn.
Of course top recruits are passing on LSU, just look at the fanbase and the ridiculous tirades they regurgitate here every day.
It's pathetic.
We have to be all in or out.
I choose in.

e said that the great HS quarterbacks look to see if they can be developed for the NFL and that LSU is not the place right now given the BCS game.
How many QB's come from one specific collage team who would fit that bill. Talking in generalities just to add to our embarrassment?

We lost what he considers an very strong NFL quarterback because of poor quarterback development.
Maybe so, but it was mostly Mommy Kiel that screwed that deal.

How much will / has parkinsons effected his ability to coach? I mean is it something that effects the mind or will the medication that he needs to take keep him from being able to function the way he normally would? I guess we will find out soon enough.

Friend of mine's mother has lived with it for close to 30 years. It's a gradual thing, especially at first. He probably has several more productive years if he's on the right medication.

you don't know j lee was the #11 qb in the country
I do know that Lee wasn't ranked in Rivals top 250 and was only given 4 stars. I also know that just because you're #11 at QB for the class doesn't mean you're a top recruit, it could just mean it wasn't a good year for QBs.
quote:
you don't know Zach was recruited by bama and texas a & m.
I know that A&M isn't a good program to compare to LSU and that due to the way Bama runs their offense, they also do not often get top notch passing QBs. I also know that EVERYONE knew that kid was going to MLB.

you think being a top 10 dual threat isn't good because it's not drop back.
No, I think being a dual threat QB is not what we're talking about here, we'e talking about the PASSING game. I would expect good dual threat QBs to look at programs like LSU.

And, you don't know that lsu was so attractive a month ago the #1 qb chose them. So this month they aren't attractive.
I also know that he's STILL the only one that could be considered a #1 QB considering LSU, and even then decided against LSU when he saw LSU's 'passing game' in the BCSCG.
It's really not as big a deal as you're making it. LSU doesn't really need the #1 QB to come here to win the BCS.
...but it sure would help.

J. lee rivals top 250, look for lee in alphabetical order, that's after k. Lee was # 7 pro-style qb.

come on, prove me wrong. where can you find any information to back this statement up? not stats of lsu's passing attack. Show me where gunner said any of this. until then, you're just ignorant and now displaying stupidity.

no body was saying this when Oklahoma got blown out by USC or Ohio state got blown out by Florida...

Miles is paid to win games. Division titles. Conference titles. Bowls. Not please the media or develop NFL qbs
that pretty well explains why we had jj as a qb for what seems like 15 years, and why we are having trouble signing potential nfl quality qbs
