To recruits, with so many SEC contenders, will Saban ever win another title?

Saban entered the SEC when there were many pretenders as coach, now he’s facing more contenders and losing. He loss to Fisher last year, he loss to Tenn, he loss to LSU, he may lose to Ole Miss, he would get destroyed by Ga. It just seems doubtful that Saban will when another title, seems more likely that younger coaches at LSU, Tenn and Ga will.

I wouldn’t doubt he wins another. He is historically the best college football coach of all time.

As he is still a top recruiter and will no doubt overhaul the staff I wouldn't bet against.

Between the NIL now spreading the talent, and more SEC contenders. Saban may not ever dominate the SEC again.

Heard this song sooo many times, I know every word backwards and forwards. But we need him to beat Ole Miss, and we take care of biz in Arky and we’re in no matter what in the last 2 games. It is reassuring knowing that CBK is a Good coach and will not let this team look beyond the task at hand. If O or Less were in this situation I would put a Bill on Arkansas ML

I would normally downvote a post based on such wishful extrapolations. However, Saban looks to have passed his prime. I am sure he’s still a better coach than most, but its just a sense that I get when watching him. Having an elderly father, this is not something I would ever celebrate. I actually hope that I am wrong. But if I’m being honest, that’s what I see.

That’s the whole point, there are more SEC contenders who are younger coaches and with more drive and are more mentally involved. Kelly appears among the top of that list. Not Saban.

Saban is the best of all time. It would be about as surprising as the sun coming up in the morning for him to win another SEC title at some point. Unless he retires obviously.

I’m not too old to remember everyone having this same exact conversation when Alabama lost twice in 2019, right before they absolutely fricking steamrolled CFB in 2020…

Also worth noting that saban’s all time highest rated recruiting class will be juniors next year. I understand the victory lap but you’d be an absolute fool to count him out until his retirement is official.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he won another one, but it also wouldn’t shock me if he didn’t.

The thing that looks like it is slowly chipping away at Alabama is Saban is 71 yrs old and recruits are not sure he will be around by the time they get to playing level which for many is 2-3 yrs out. many top level kids are looking elsewhere now.

The funny thing someone was discussing on here now was if the "Bama Bump" was hurting them now because of a false sense of talent.

If Saban loses another game and Bryce Young is going to the draft I could easily see him going to retirement and pulling up a chair in the studio booth

Do we think we have folks posting on here too old to remember three years ago?

Bama is literally 2 plays from being undefeated and #1 or 2 in the country right now. they will be a threat until Saban is long gone.

THIS. Winning another will be difficult. Next season alone he will start a NEW, unproven QB (unless he raids the portal) and with that how do you draw any top WR transfers? They also lose their best player on D, and their best player on O this year in Gibbs. I think next season could very easily be another 2-L one (or worse), and that is simply not good enough for HIM. His OWN standards. At his age, it will be interesting...

Urbs, Spurrier, Kiffin, Miles, Freeze, Franklin were not pretenders. Saban built this dynasty at the height of the SEC dominating the BCS, so I think it’s foolish to think he won’t win another title soon.

Bama is literally 4 plays from having 4 losses. And one of those that should have been, is aggy.

I remember our fans saying this after his first season in Bama. He was too mean sit and it wouldn’t work with the fans at bama and the boosters with his attitude. it was the most laughable bullshite i ever heard when we were saying that, while the guy we were saying would dominate Nick Saban was chewing grass and barely coherent in interviews and press conferences. Oh but his seeming lack of intelligence was all part of some master plan as well, along with his secret play book.
