re: The doubting of Bordelon is ridiculous...

Look I’m glad this kid is in the class as we should absolutely continue legacy families when we can but there’s also no reason for us to have to waste a valuable scholarship spot in an absolutely loaded in state class. His family owns Bollinger Shipyards so there’s no reason he can’t take a preferred walk-on or gray shirt until next year. He was always going to redshirt so it’s not like he’s losing on field experience time.

I don't see why others can't understand this.
His family seems like the type that would be fine with it.

They should be ok with it but at the same time some could see it as their family has given so much money for TAF that they would view it as a slight by not giving him a full ride. If he were my son and I was in their position I would do whatever helped the team win but it’s an ego thing in the end unfortunately.

Sincere question for you Chalky.
Why is it different for a quarterback? Is it because they are being evaluated more on their mechanics and less on how they compete in results of competition??

A high 3 star? That's not bad for an underweight junior.

This is a position of extreme need...We need a few sure things in this class at offensive lineman, he is that. We can't afford to get Tristen Leigh'd and jojo Earle'd on signing day by two or three guys this year that are slightly higer rated at this position... We just fired our online coach and are behind Im sure currently on several guys we really like. If he was a wr in Louisiana this year his name would not get him a scholarship....

I think you’re underestimating the big deal of the additions of Brad Davis and Austin Thomas will dp to our recruiting. We are in a lot of the top OL guys final choices so I feel good about us landing at least 2 more good recruits. It’s a pretty safe bet Dellinger is going to be a good one so we should at least have a pair of really good starting tackles with he and Campbell. We are slowly but surely closing that talent gap with Alabama on the o-line. We really need 5 or 6 OL in this class but I think we ultimately end up with 4.
Will Campbell
Bo Bordelon
Emery Jones
Julian Armella

Some are saying his last name brings great influence when in reality it brings great expectations. His father was a good player that worked himself into a All-Conference and NFL career. I think you can expect the same determination from his son.
I agree, he has proven good bloodlines which IF he is a borderline talent his bloodline puts him over the top and makes him a take, especially at a position where a developmental player has a good chance of turning into a big time talent (for example: Cushenberry)
When you are in a state that doesn't traditionally turn out a lot of OL talent, you got to identify and hit on some of these borderline type OL's (IF he is a borderline player, not saying that he is). If his last name makes him a take, as some say, it might be because his last name equals a proven good paternal bloodline
Secretariat was sired by Bold Ruler, who led the North America sire list eight times. Triple crown winner Seattle Slew male bloodline can also be traced to Bold Ruler.

Try the 90’s. He was born in the 70’s.

If the staff thinks he’s worth a scholarship then that’s good enough for me.

No, but don't single out Bordelon who hasn't even made it to campus yet, while there are some who have been on the team a few years that haven't proven scholarship worthy.

And for reference Cush's rating: 0.8238
Bo as a JR: 0.8767
Most OL take time to develop. Bo needs to get stronger and add weight. As he gets stronger his playing style should change. If he's stronger he doesn't have to lean into the defender, his punch and redirection improves as well. He has the frame to carry extra weight without losing mobility.
Right now we need a combination of plug and play OL and developmental guys so if the staff thinks he has potential and are willing to be patient then great. It beats the hell out of getting hand shake commitments from top OL that commit elsewhere and leave us short on OL.

Cmon man. That Mailho kid was not even close to good enough to be recruited by LSU. Just because his dad posted about him on the board doesn’t mean he should be considered. He’s not nearly athletic enough.

Bordelon has a premature offer because of his name. It’s fine. I get it.
This is where I am. If it leads to his dad donating some money though, it's probably worth it. I wish they'd just pay for him for a year or so.
He also has good bloodlines, could develop into solid depth later on.
Honestly though, if I'm him, I go to UVA and don't look back. That education will be more valuable to him than football.

That "LSU Education" didn't seem to handicap his Dad?
If he works as hard at his career, as he seems to work at football, I'd put my money on his success.

I'm not knocking LSU man

Just saying that UVA is objectively a much, much better one. It's a fantastic school.
Also, just for clarification on my end, did his dad build his fortune or inherit it and maintain it? I thought he was sired by a shipping magnate.

You think I’m influenced by what someone’s dad post on here?

I mean you are kind of proving his point with this question! Kardell also played against small school D Lines
