I know he has not left Texas Tech yet but do ya'll think if that program lose him who will take his spot.

i think hes gonna stay but if he does go then who knows. i think in the next few weeks they will give him a legit contract

They will go the West Virginia route and hire someone with no prospects that will never leave them.

They want Art Briles, but he has one of the best QBs in the country coming into 2009

texas tech married up. its fricking unbelievable they think they have the leverage and can strong arm him. that program has always sucked, atleast now they are respectable and win games
im hoping they fire leach and pick some douche to replace him and fall back to the cellar of the big12 south. you dont know what youve got til its gone....

Personally, I would prefer they keep him giving A & M little hope of rising to respectability.

Tech did have a conversation with D-2 Coach Don Carthel at West Texas A&M - just to feel him out. He would be a good fit. Runs the exact same offense and never plays much defense. This guy would die on the job at Tech - if he could last from the backlash of fan support.
Briles is staying at Baylor.

I agree, I was listening to this topic on Rivals radio this morning. The main contract problem is the guaranteed money if he's fired. Guys like Stoops have 100% buyout guaranteed, national average is like 55%. They're trying to get Leach to agree to 12% guaranteed.

debatable with what Leach has now done with the program. that actually wouldnt be that bad of a program to coach. you get to recruit the state texas, and getting U of Texas' backups make a pretty good team.
