Tech did have a conversation with D-2 Coach Don Carthel at West Texas A&M - just to feel him out. He would be a good fit. Runs the exact same offense and never plays much defense. This guy would die on the job at Tech - if he could last from the backlash of fan support.
Briles is staying at Baylor.
Who knows how this thing will end?

dumb question.......why was the chicken bowl in Atlanta? Maybe they just wanted it there.

I was at practice this week and Jefferson looked very good. Throws a great ball, honestly didn't see alot of difference in Lee and him as far as arm strength. J can move really well. J got alot of reps.
Seen both throw in person, on pure arm strength I gotta go with shep.
easy killer, carrol has done pretty well the last five years. How many 11 win years has he put together and he has a great BCS record. what he needs right now is Norm Chow, play calling was terrible.

HIPAA - Just so you know every student-athlete at LSU singns a HIPAA release to the school and any media that covers them, as well as any third-party companies they work with medically.

I work with most of the SEC schools and I would rank them:
1) Ar Kansas
2) LSU
3) UGA
4) Tenn
Best I have seen in the country is Nebraska, it just has a awe factor that most don't. Players lounge was built by Larry the Cable guy.
Worst is by far S. Carolina in the SEC.

In a way this baffles me. For the last three years it has become common for recruits to spend their own money coming to camps in the summer and unofficial visits on their own dime. With all of the eatly commitments I would think this number would be lower?
In the past it was common for kids to take all five visits, not the case anymore.

Both players didn't look too good in the AA game. They had a game plan but some kids did their own thing and missed assignments or didn't stay home when needed. RJ Washington comes to mind, all he wanted to do was rush the QB and leave his LB's in trouble by creating space for shifty runners like Star and TP to expose the gaps.
Both Prater and Mauti (SP) had great weeks of practice though. Both are hitters for sure. Prater did run a 4.5 forty in the presence of the OU coaches for what it's worth.

On the University of Texas Rivals page they are all crying foul about LSU and Les's envasion in Texas. LSU is in the mix on some serious Texas talent. Love the job the staff is doing in the Lone Star State!
McFarland - LSU - RS and the Davenport commitment make LSU the winner.
Loston - LSU - Just have a gut feeling
Williams - Texas Tech - Family will pull him to stay close and early playing time.

I have to wonder about his grades simply from listening to him in interviews? Does anyone know if he's qualified?

I think we have a great shot with this kid. Might mean more to LSU down the road as his school always has 2-3 db's that go D-1 every year. Would be a good Texas school to make some in roads.
Spoke with Mauti's dad at the AA game. Sounded like a PSU lock from the get go or atleast that's how his Dad made it out to me? Oklahoma was a serious contender at one point.
