The Super Bowl Saints LBers were the "Snow Patrol" Fujita, Shanle and Simoneau .
Tackett Curtis starting his first game as a Freshman at USC was an impressive feat.

He played, but he was awful. I have no dog in the fight and I give him a partial pass because he was a freshman, but it was clear he didn’t belong on the field last year. I always felt he was too stiff although he could really hit. Wouldn’t mind having him but Whit Weeks was miles ahead of Tackett as a freshman.

The idea that any of our fans are passing for a local with a high ceiling is so beyond the pale petty that is sums up the South perfectly lmao get a grip people we should absolutely take him

He dint like LSU. snubbed us first go around

quote:That was the dumbest rumor too! Jess wants people who respect his kids and program. Tylen committed to LSU and Jess got Cryer at Natch Central committed and flipped from Ole Miss to LSU.
Alot of grown men bought into the BS rumor that his uncle hated LSU. What really happened is the clown orgeron refused to recruit the many kids & the coach didn't like the disrespect from O. Had nothing to do with LSU itself. Besides the curtis family already had connections at SC.

I read this as “entitled diva HS coach at a school in a townie town that no one will ever give a f about decided to be petty about us not recruiting his kids …when we offered one of his kids.”
I’ll refrain from digging the kid, he’s a kid & Idk him. But North LA to SoCal wasn’t a good fit, you say? — color me surprised lmao! Sorry, kind of hard not to laugh at everyone involved here.
HS coach didn’t like “disrespect” from LSU’s head coach, and that has “nothing to do with LSU”? Remind me, what should Jess’ pride have to do with Kid A’s decision?
I’d have liked it more if he had straight up said “I think CEO is incompetent”, but that wasn’t even it — just wanted his respect lol, dude sounds like a piece of work.
The best part of all this is that the kid is/was not even a gamebreaking linebacker — Perkins is though, and Weeks was a better get in hindsight.
Never seen a worse group of posters on this board than the Many simps.

Yep, same people would hate him if he came here.

Jess didn’t do crap. Those guys aren’t related to him and they make their own decisions. No coach should make any college decisions for kids. Them and their parents make that choice. Nice try.

I burned some all 22 this morning, and this is accurate. You can see why USC was 7-5, if they were forced to give this kid snaps. He looks tiny out there; should have been an automatic redshirt. Just about every highlight of his is him pile-jumping. When he makes a solo tackle, he is taken for a ride.
That said, he can run, and he has the aggressiveness to play the position.
As bad as LSU's LB play was last year, i don't think this is a player that comes in and plays at LSU. My advice would be go play down a bit.

I wouldn’t say not take him, but curious, what makes people think he would to come to LSU? It seems Kelly and staff had given him every opportunity to come to LSU. Not saying it won’t happen but curious why people think all of a sudden he has completely changed his mind and wants to be in BR?

I’m a new camp owner at TB so I can get behind this ……..

Huh? First, apparently he got benched during the season. And second and 10 times more important is the fact that the USC defense was tissue paper all season long...apologies to Charmin BTW. They fired Grinch their DC and a DB coach. The USC defense made the LSU defense look like the old Pittsburgh Steelers steel curtain defense by comparison. Don't care about Curtis one way or the other but you need to come up with a much, much better advocacy for him than starting for USC as a FR.

Fortunately by that time we had Vilma in for Simoneau

Wasn't he the kid who basically had some weird hybrid SS/LB role created for him? Where he was moving forward to the LOS every play from the secondary?
I was always curious how he'd translate b/c you'd assume he'd have to be taught how to play actual LB from scratch.

Yeah I went back and watched some of his highlights after this popped up. He was playing like 10 yards off the ball and was able to run downhill at the snap to where ever the ball was going.
ETA: Almost like a free safety with no coverage responsibilities.

Funny les said that bc i was watching that same clip last night and felt like i was watching like Craig Steltz or someone. Way too small to play LB in the SEC imo

Subtle brag.
But I’ll allow it since I love TB so much
