Split or Not, Many’s deep playoff run is impressive.

Believe I mentioned that I played on their first Dome team with Coach Curtis.

I just hope Curtis can be a factor & make some plays. Maybe he’ll match up with Randle

You never pass on a thumper with room to grow at LB, especially Mike

10 years ago you'd be correct. In 2022, schools pass on them everyday. That role is primarily a 1 down, situational one in this age of offenses. Most of them end up outside or on the DL these days. Of course there are always exceptions but more often than not a big Mike is a situational guy. More of a role in a 3-4 of course but still situational. Next part isn't aimed at you

Catfish John is being down voted to death but he's not entirely incorrect. 2A is a big step down from college. We've all seen how big the step from low level LA to college is for many highly ranked prospects instate. More failures than successes in the recruiting rankings era.
All I've seen "proving' Catfish wrong thus far is a couple of guys with personal feelings involved actually using what college coaches tell a kid as evidence. It's called "recruiting" for a reason. Those same coaches tell multiple kids the same exact things like "you're #1 on our board". It's sales 101. To be taken with huge grains of salt. These coaches are taking 30 kids this year. They can't all be #1 on the board. They can be told so. Huge difference.

He is what the new age Mike LB will be. He is not the old 250 lb Mike.
He is what the game is going to a physical guy that can call and set the defense, can thump within the box and run like a safety.
He is what they all want. Their isn’t an ILB that checks every box like him.
Smarts
Physicality
Speed

That’s why he is the guy

I'm glad he enjoyed his visit here. We obviously really really want him and that's good enough for me. I hope he stays home and lets us other Bootsters enjoy watching him continue to grow as we've been blessed to do with so many other young boot stars.

Question:
I have seen several folks post about Curtis' speed.
Is there reliable info on this?
A forty time or something at a track meet?
Thanks

Dude I’m sorry he is not a better athlete than Harold Perkins. And why compare him to Keuchly?

I wonder? LOL I mean Ibiea is the next Julian Edelman. We know why the Rant makes these comparisions lol

That's a really good article and worth reading the whole thing. Based on the quotes from Tackett and family the staff made a significant impression. You can tell the difference in courtesy statements and genuine interest and it sounds like LSU is in serious contention. If Curtis goes elsewhere it won't be because the staff didn't do their job.

Isn't he a Top 100 player in the country? I'll take the opinions of the people who evaluate recruits for a living and the coaches who recruit those players for a living, as opposed to some guys hanging out on a message board.

No offense to anyone, but I'd prefer to let Brian Kelly recruit the players he believes are the best. And he clearly believes Curtis is one of the very best. Good enough for me.

He's athletic enough to play Safety and strong enough to step down in the box and play LB, pretty rare combo. He's high on alot of boards because of that.

I mean who doesn't? I think our chances are growing by the day as time passes post-O era.

Here are a few good reasons why he should go to LSU:
1. Your friends and family can easily drive in for the weekend to watch you play.
2. You're able to play for your state which adds a little extra something to play for.
3. The state of Ohio is miserably cold.
4. Being a recognizable name as an ex-Tiger football player is like gold ink on a resume.

Once he sets his official visit in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night and compares that to Ohio State's games where he freezes his arse off, I think we have him sold.
