Oregon is sending their entire staff on Thursday to visit Ika supposedly.

Ika and Ish will have no bearing on one another. I'm still in the "I'll believe it when I see it" boat on Ish, but our staff still feels it isn't over. We still have the "We'll give your brother a spot, too" card that we are willing to play for Ish if he wants it. Not ideal, but still an option nonetheless.

I like ish. I think he's going to be a good player but we don't have the luxury of allowing him to play games. If he wants in then get in, otherwise We're going to get someone else.

Can't be left with our dicks in our hands on the Dline this year

Bamma is still not taking Rodney. So there's that. Landing Ish and Ika is not as remote as perceived, IMO and would round out the DL class better than expected.

Anguilo is the mountain west guy. He has been the one providing the info and interviewing Ika the most. I’d imagine he has the best relationship with him as well. It is a little concerning that Wiltfong picked Oregon because he is over 90% accurate this year but on like 500+ picks.

I like that anguilo rarely puts in picks.

Blair specializes in the mountain west region. He's the one to pay attention to for recruits out of Utah. His quote explaining his crystal ball was "I think LSU is in the driver's seat here".

Wiltfong is more of a national guy.

Wiltfong just put in a CB for Ish to Bama, too.

Don't you think the fact that LSU has to essentially pay "double" for a player who you still don't think will come here is pretty telling?

If the demand is "give my brother a scholarship or I'm not coming", the why is Alabama even still in the conversation? They sure as hell aren't giving his brother a scholarship.

Ika + one of Handy, Stripling or Moore/Young >>>>>> Ish + Rodney IMHO (regardless of the PR hit you take for losing Ish to Bama.)

I think there is a lot more to the story than can be aired publicly at this time. But short answer is yes, I do think that 2 schollys for Ish is too much given the other talent that is out there. That being said, the powers at be don't ask me what I think.

I think most would prefer that, but I haven't heard anything to get excited about concerning our chances with Handy, Stripling, Moore, Young, etc. Getting any of them would be a pleasant surprise though.

I thought his brother dropped out of JUCO? He cant qualify for any D1 school right now.

I think this whole "offer my brother" thing is just reading down the list of things to say from Saban to keep things distracting. It makes absolutely zero sense for him to say something like that when his brother dropped out of JUCO, how can he even go to any d1 school?

I respect your opinion and greatly appreciate the information that you bring to this board.

With that said- when you say “other talent out there” who exactly are you referring too?

I’m going down the list of guys and it’s looking like most of these ships have sailed.

Sospher- You states your opinion

Pickering- Recently re-affirmed his commitment to state and that’s where his mother wants him.

Moore- Are we even still recruiting him? I don’t remember the last time he was on LSUs campus and State guys are saying he’s solid.

Byron Young- Maybe we can sway him on his visit but Bama guys are saying he’s solid and he’s been all Bama since he’s committed. I have a hard time believing that we can flip an out of state Bama commit.

Jaren Handy- This one is interesting to me, especially with the issues at Auburn. Are we getting him back on campus?

Siaki Ika- He becomes a must land if we don’t get Sospher.

Marcus Stripling- Looks all OU at this point.

The big Hawaiian kid is solid to Washington.

I’m just not sure what other talent you see. I would love for your input though, as I do respect your opinion.

That's fine, but you better be certain you can absorb that waste of a scholarship AND that the guy you are paying double for is worth it.

In 2014 LSU gave Maea Teuhema's low ranked brother a scholarship in a package deal. The less talented brother turned out to be a bum, and Maea was ok, but certainly not great.

LSU also gave Lanard a scholarship, but Leonard turned out to be a transcended RB (while Larnard, to his own credit, looks like he will contribute)
