LOL he really is trying to fight back breaking down into sobs. People are done with these recruiting services and "insiders". They actively want calsses to fall apart and flips to happen so they can post their graphics and sell new subscriptions.

we shouldn't have been in the position in the first place... we should have still been actively recruiting other top rated QBs even with him verballed, and we damn sure should have ramped it up when Michigan let Carter Smith go and started pursuing Underwood... we didn't, and now look where we are... again...

100% this. Do NOT placate these players feelings...ever. You keep going no matter what at any and everyone. They question your commitment to them you question theirs to you. Screw them. It's a unethical, cold game so play it that way. You don't believe a word these kids say.

That was always going to be a top story no matter the team. Also, those other teams haven't gotten blown out 3 games in a row while the Underwood stuff has been unfolding.

exactly....
they wined and dined this ONE player, forsaking anyone else in the process, and got caught with our pants down when we got outbid...
and you have to realize... this will CONTINUE to happen any time we are in it for a recruit that is looking at a school with deeper pockets than us, b/c we cannot outbid some of these schools... if Texas, or aTm, or Bama, or apparently Michigan REALLY want a player, we WILL get outbid b/c we just dont' have the ability to match what they can offer financially

Pickett is the only big one I will worry about from this class. Nobody else out of the two mentioned above is flipping.

This is going on everywhere. To play devil’s advocate, Why would a 5 star qb not wanna play for his big, in state home school with a recent natty? Julian Lewis, Carrollton, Ga, has been committed to usc, longer than underwood was to us. He decommits and chooses…..Colorado. Ga needs a qb to replace beck. He COULD step in and start right away for a perennial sec power. He’s going with the cash grab and the glitter of coach prime.

Great, like what? What would be your plan for the top QB recruit in the country flipping 2 weeks before signing day?
There's only 1 thing and it's probably what they will do - hit the portal and add a guy to compete with the young QBs you already have.
If you want to bitch and complain then go ahead. But don't pretend like having some other highly touted QB recruit strung along just incase Underwood flipped is a viable plan.

i was done getting excited over "verbal commitments" a LONG time ago... at this point, i just wait for the other shoe to drop, b/c eventually it does, especially when certain schools are still in it...
it is what it is... of course, winning MEANINGFUL games and being in the championship hunt helps alot, but as long as we got Kelly, that ain't happening, so we have to pay recruits what we are willing to spend, which, unfortunately, is not as much as some other schools...

it starts with not setting yourself up to be in this position in the first place... you start a contingency plan in ADVANCE of a bad thing happening, not WHEN it happens... you do understand that right? b/c your question certainly makes it seem like you don't...
