He does make some good points. I don't believe that's a decisions a kid that young should have to be making.
I'm more concerned that the kids will then become lazy since they think they already have it made and just rely on their natural abilities. It happens to a lot of upperclassmen. They get the scholarship and stop working for it.

He is great I'd say 60% of the time but when he's wrong he just won't shut up. I'm not saying he is wrong this time but for him to talk poorly of LSU for offering a 14 year old when it is completely legal is wrong. Talk poorly about the rule that is not in place and remain solely to that argument, don't speak on the the university that did it.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Yes sir!!

This is why I'm glad to see some of the underclassmen getting those grades in check and staying humble...

Im sorry I dont see where LSU has evne accepted his commitment. Thats right Stephen A. we havent. The coaches just throw an offer like that to keep interest in the recruit for the future. Did LSU go actively out to recruit the kid. No ... he came to camp wanting to get recruited.

I find it halarious that its now not in good taste to reward kids however yound they are with the idea that their hard work has paid off and that if they keep doing so they can achieve a reward of a college education paid for in their future.

No one is doing anything innappropriate but if there is any mention of the emotion of a child under the age of 17-18 being in play people are now going to be quick to judge because of Sandusky's exploits of children at PSU.

Its a double edges sword for coaches.

Wrong. Colin Cowherd killed it this morning. In his defense of LSU, he talked about how every major women's softball program in the country is scouting 13-14 year olds and offering schollies to 15 year olds. He talked about how tennis, golf and baseball players are scouted and recruited just past junior high ALL THE TIME. Even he reminded his audience that Tiger Woods had an agent at age 11. So this whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

Offering a scholly is a non-binding arrangement on both sides. If this kid accepts then changes his mind later, there are no repercussions. If this kid accepts and breaks his leg next year and never plays football again, there are no repercussions. This is a stupid argument.

Steven A. is just plum STUPID! Don't know what he talking bout. He tries to say what if these kids want to change their minds in the future....Well doesn't Steven A know that verbals are non binding?Well apparently not. That let's you know right there he knows nothing about nothing concerning hs football and recruiting.

Probably trippin cause his son wasn't offered in the 8th grade.

Everyone needs to chill the frick out, especially Stevie A. LSU Offered - The Kid did not accept, nor commit. All this amounts to is the fact at the age of 14, the kid impressed the LSU staff and they offered a scholly. END OF STORY. So what?

I bet there are 1,500 kids that LSU is impressed with at the age of 14, and they tell them that if they continue to work hard, develop, and take advantage of their God given abilities, look for a scholly. What's the big fricking deal?

One of these days SLEEZE S P N will get a story right......

Did they mention that Washington accepted a commit from a 5'11, 14 year old QB yesterday? He's a '17 guy as well. How about FSU offering a '17 guy earlier this summer.(might have been '16). It's gonna get worse and as previously posted in this thread, the offers are in truth, meaningless. The UW commit is worse than our offer. They'd have to turn the kid away completely.

I'm a fan of neither Stephen A. nor Skip, but this was a pretty good discussion IMO. However, I think Washington would be more in the "wrong" than us for giving a 13-year-old a "committable offer." The offer extended to Moses is definitely not committable yet.

When Usc offered that Qb all they talked about was how he can be the next in line to be the next great USC QB. They didnt say anything bad about it.

Why draw a line?

Hey Stephen.....how do feel about ESPN showing high school games?

All of it exploitation of amateur sport. College FB included. Im sure he doesn't have a problem with that.

What did people think was going to happen when colleges started paying as much as the NFL for their coaches. $abun was the highest paid college coach before he ever won a single game at bama. Now he makes more than many in the NFL.

The answer is to have a NCAA central player grading system for recruits. Every school should be allowed so many 5 stars so many 4 stars and so on. Then we would see which coaches are really good at coaching.

It will never happen. Too much money involved and Stephen knows this, he works in it. So he needs to STFU in quit pandering to the camera.
