Spiegelman just upped his RPM for Wardell Mack to Texas

Seems like that's where he's headed at this point.
Bailed on the Splash, and zero news after his Florida visit.
Oh well, too many big things in motion for this to get me down.

Cai is the Wardell replacement anyway (and he’s just as good). They’ll keep pressing Wardell, it’s not over yet. If we get him, great. If not, Tiger bait

We need to land McKinley. I want all top 10 LA kids, but 9 out of 10 will do. Losing Mack would hurt.

Yo Wardell....
Texas sucks.
Texas sucks.

McKinley

Give me McKinley. I can deal with Mack going elsewhere.

Yep. We need to do for McKinley and Simmons what we did for Perkins.

Getting Cai Bates makes Mack going elsewhere not matter as much.

How many times does it have to be proven that homegrown Louisiana kids are the route to success? Letting the best Louisiana DB’s walk to your conference rival isn’t a good trend to start. Jacoby Matthews was a lot more important recruit than people realize.
Why do you think we fought tooth and nail to keep Sage Ryan here?

Cai, JuJUAN, and Ondre ain’t a bad trade off.

Mckinley is the player you can't lose.
Mack I'm not worried about.

So be it. If it’s one thing I’m not worried about, it’s a premadonna db from Louisiana. We we be ok without him. If he’s going elsewhere it’s bc we have
What we need, or he just doesn’t want to compete.

Dude you literally proved yourself wrong with your own response. Sage is a solid role player but we all know hes not what we thought he was in recruiting, and what do ya know he’s from Louisiana. Yet Cordale Flott and Jay Ward were both out of state and a lot better players. It’s not an exact science. Go watch Bates highlight film and you will sleep fine without Mack.

No way he's a premadonna db.

It's amazing how narratives change even when really nothing is any different now than right after the Texas visit. Only thing that "changed" was a visit expected and counted on to save the day didn't happen. Otherwise status quo. Yet the storm clouds took all the sunshine away. More than a couple rival message boards/analysts even hinting LSU has been playing catch up from jump. Amazing the power social media posts can have on the human psyche even when absolutely nothing has tangibly changed to cause the mood shift.
Now the board will have its week of coping by trashing the kids intelligence, trashing Texas/UF teams, schools, fans and coaches alike, give Corey Raymond hell, blame it on money(them paying more which leads to discussions of are we poor or is Kelly some 5d chess player with the money), endless topics of how "elite" our commits are compared to Mack and yet not one that called names a short month ago will concede they were wrong. Have to love it.

Last class we got Toviano and added 4 transfers (all with 2+ years of eligibility). They were a composite .94 CB class. This class we have Cai who is ranked higher than Mack and has a higher ceiling as a newly converted WR to CB. There are also 3 more CBs and 2 safeties in this class.
Kelly and Co have to be smart with how they use the NIL money and we won't be short on DB options. Trench players are going to be a higher priority because they are harder to find and Kelly knows winning starts in the trenches.
