What about the other 49 states in this country that he could get work at?

Personally I’m at the point that I wouldn’t mind LSU asking him to commit now or we aren’t holding a scholarship for your brother anymore. If he doesn’t commit still recruit him until signing day but without his brothers guaranteed spot.

If he doesn’t sign in December the offer for the brother is off the table. You hold a spot for him for the late signing period if O thinks there is a shot

Worst case, he doesn’t sign and they use the spot for a transfer.

Reality is, we are going to have to process quite a few guys to sign 25 this year. No need to take projects or worry about only signing 23-24 if that is how things play out. Not enough draft ready juniors

Except for the guy who said he won't be able to find viable work in Louisiana? As if he's going to be totally blackballed from ever gaining employment in the state ever again.

Bucky Richardson wanted desperately to move back to BR after his playing days but nobody would hire him. He had to move to Houston.

Every kid should have the freedom to pick but every employer has the choice who to hire. If an LSU grad is equal to other applicants that are non LSU grads then I am going with the home team. If u go to Bama, stay in Bama.

Couldn't he find viable work in Birmingham? Or maybe he could find viable work in Louisiana at a business run by a ULL or Tulane grad? Or what if there's an Alabama grad in Louisiana in a position to hire someone?

The first option is what naturally a traitor would lend towards. The second is an unfortunate reality. The third is another reality, especially in Monroe area. Sometimes it would be nice to imagine if this was the 30's and Huey was around. Saban would not have been able to re-enter the state to even coach a football game without total fear or there would have been plenty of concrete blocks at the bottom of the bayou along the years:).

As bitter as we may be this just isnt true. Every kid should have the freedom to choose which school they want to attend without feeling threatened in any way. Some want to stay home and represent the boot/stay close to family and friends. Some might just want go play for the greatest college coach of all-time. Some might just want change of scenery. Now if they were to lie to our coaches and "flip" the night before signing day and/or have a last second $ultimatum$ then the hostility like some have, I'd understand the hostility. Sospher hasn't been leading LSU on like others have and I respect that

Some want to be the rebel and usurper and not play for the prince of darkness of the evil empire. There are those who see through the BS and the unfair advantages Bama has and see the death star. There is a Luke Skywalker in many of us. Then there are those who are easily led and want to be with the cool kids.

re: Sophser and the boot to Bama trend
The simple fact is that a kids best shot for employment in the state he is for him to go to school there. Argue all you want but it is a business decision on the kids part and at 17 most think there is no way they don't get to the NFL.

Since this isn’t happening, we don’t have to wonder about it

He wouldn’t be able to match the name recognition he could in LA, particularly if he isn’t a huge contributor at bama

re: Sophser and the boot to Bama trend
it’s beyond me why anyone would go to Bama. It’s why we must embrace our players like devin white, who wouldn’t even consider Bama and loves his HOME state. He represents! These other people like Moses etc.. are cowards who you do not want to be in a Fox hole with. They like being contrary which is an awful way to go through life As far as “finding a job” in Louisiana, who cares as most will be bankrupt within 5 years of their pro life and have no real skills anyway.

Having said all that, Sophser to LSU would be a great decision for him. Lsu has lead the ncaa 5 years in a row in the number of players in the nfl. It’s a great move to play defense at Lsu.

I am sure he can if he wants to move there and be away from family.

Sure that would work. That eliminates a lot of options from other offers had he went to LSU. Bottom line I don't think kids really think about this at this time in their life. But it is reality.

Do y’all really believe this?

What if sopsher goes to bama and gets an accounting degree, do you really think CPA firms in Louisiana would really not hire him simply cuz he went to bama?

The answer is no they wouldn’t actually black ball him.

He obviously won’t get a job BECAUSE he went to bama but I don’t think any of those bama kids are gonna get black balled either.

Sopsher in line for a job in La. with me; and it's best man wins.

Sopsher in line for a job in La. with me and Ed Alexander, and Ed Alexander gets it plus he gets a company car.
