Wasn’t he a big time get ? I know injury shut him down this year but are we sleeping on this guy’s potential for next season…….

Yes. This board just gets enamored by newest portal addition (even if they dont have any production at previous school) and forget about the guys we already have... who has more upside.

What was his injury, and was that the only reason for not playing?

Thank you. So his potential is unknown, but with a new staff, he won’t have to unlearn bad habits.

With the right offseason development and strength program we can see a big jump. I am excited to see who takes the next step in the development. I actually am very excited about Weston Davis' potential with another year under his belt.

He supposedly fully recovered and in position to start at LT

Negative. His potential is known and his potential is a stud/star LT. He would have played a lot last year without injury and eventually started.
Probably the most athletic and physically talented lineman we had last year.

I guess we’re talking about “potential” as a high schooler, versus actual production at the SEC level.

I think he’s a guard personally with his body type.

Going to be a fun offseason for him. Get to work young fella and embrace the Coaching! The electricity and joy is being brought back to LSU Football.

So we're the others we recruited that sucked balls last season.

Just remember Weston Davis and Carius Curne were both also 5-stars. Davis had a REALLY rough year and Curne did meh when he played. OT ratings out of HS are more about size and athleticism I think.

This was his profile from 24/7 coming out of high school.
Looks like he was coming in to be a IOL just like Curne.
Advanced offensive line prospect with some position flexibility that's built to play in an offensive system that’s heavy on gap and inside-zone concepts. Looks ready to play with a barrel-chested build that measures in at just under 6-foot-4, 315 pounds. Spent much of junior season working at left tackle, before repping primarily at left guard early on during senior season. Excels at pinning and pulling as he’s frequently in tune and in control of his body. Solid as a combo blocker and has the brute strength to displace assignments as a down blocker. Likes to finish with authority and will put defenders in the ground when he gets a chance. Has had his moments in pass pro over the years, but likely lacks foot quickness to handle the hot corner at the game’s highest levels. Still, has proven to be rather effective in tight quarters on passing downs with a formidable punch and sound hand placement. Projects as a potential multi-year starter for a Power Four program that can play three or four different spots up front, including center. Might need a year or two to adjust to the speed and physicality of the collegiate game, but appears to be ahead of the curve and will have a chance to eventually emerge as an NFL Draft pick if he can keep progressing and avoid setbacks.

Not that I know anything but I remember reading about him, thinking he would be an elite guard at his peak development. In last year's OL class, he was the guy I was most interested in.

Hard to tell since the issue could have been technique, coaching, and game prep.
When all you do is walkthroughs and non-contact drills at practice (per reports); you get what we saw last year.

I don't think BD will land a job anytime soon, he's the only coach still unemployed besides BK.
