Are you serious?

Van Pran.... that is my wish but it will never happen. Would be cool if he did transfer and get a ring here too.

If the season started tomorrow the QB would have to snap the ball to himself.

Charles Turner

Seems most likely as of right now. Going into his 4th year and spent the entire year taking practice reps at center (as far as I’m aware).

But I’m sure there will be some sort of competition and they will probably try some other guys in spring camp. Seems like every single spot on the OL should be up for grabs, except maybe Cam Wire at LT.

Is that kid from UVA still in the portal or did he pick a school? Thought I remembered seeing he was the #1 rated center and was in the portal- could be wrong

Okay, I hope they are staying. Didn’t both miss the bowl game?

Dellinger was out due to injury.

I feel confident they will get one through the portal. Either they haven’t seen one they like yet, or they have their eye on one that hasn’t announced.
It'll take some stones to wait but I think they'll be on somebody who's not happy after spring practice. I'm almost certain they have guys - P5 starters/former starters/backups - in mind.
Hell, I'd be really happy if 2 ND kids came down to Boot Up.

An OL of

Frazier
Torrence
Martinez
Bradford
Wire
I’d be ok with that
I'm a little partial to Martinez. We'll see. Would like to see if Bradford & Hill fit into the equation too. Wire could be a solid swing man.
Hopefully, Campbell and Jones force their way into the mix to take a starters role by Conference and we've got more on the way from the portal.

My friend, I'm afraid the lack of spirits has seriously impaired your judgement.

You aint lying. Shanahan was getting pushed into the back field 80% of snaps. He's the worst fifth year lineman I've ever seen. Was responsible for the lack of a run game on most plays...

I’d like to see (left to right preference to start) with the other as next option. I think this would be a quick and physical OL. I haven’t seen our OL be able to pull out in front to block on any screens since Saban. If this staff can pull that off with those 320 plus pound guards then great, but if not, we can go a little lighter and still be a physical line.

Would be nice to finally see a RB or WR screen with a couple of big lineman paving the green ahead.

LT Frazier/Will Campbell/Wire
LG Hill/Bradford/Martinez
C Martinez/Hill
RG Dillinger/Martinez/Emery Jones
RT Will Campbell/Wire/Dillinger

Other Backups
RT Dumervil
G Makane’ole
C West/Bordelon
G Perry/West
G Thomas
T/G Turner/Bordelon

As it stands now we're looking at two options:

1. Fitz West
2. Finding/training an existing (probably OT) who can snap CONSISTENTLY.

As of right now we're not sure if we are going to be under center 0 - 95% of the time. That sort of changes things, especially #2 above.

However, we will not be under center 100% of the time for sure, so we need to have a center that can shotgun snap, period (i.e. as if 100% of plays).

They'll keep looking the portal... but it isn't rich pickings for a good, strong OG who can shotgun snap AND make line calls. Don't forget that one... has to be able to make those protection calls (with a new OC, new OGs on either side of him, and a QB who basically hasn't played in a year). There's going to be alot on the C's shoulders.

If this was horse betting, I'd give the most favorable odds to Dellinger. Even though he looked like a freshman OT who wasn't physically strong enough yet (duh- he is) one of the reasons he got playing time over others when we were down to having to pick the lesser of any evil due to injuries was because he picked up on assignments quickly. He was mentally leaps and bounds above the other freshmen and some sophomores. And that's going to be required for our C this coming year.

Still a ways to go for us to (offer) I mean find a good center! Even a veteran starter on a west coast team, if he were smart, would see the benefit of being on an LSU team who’s on prime time TV 90% of the time!

So, I read the whole post and thought - when did I write that?

. He was terrible and was always getting bull rushed into Max’s face. He wasn’t an sec caliber center and thank god he’s gone

I believe this is the future plan but not sure a true freshman will be ready. Charles Turner was center #2 or #3 - not sure how his bulking up is progressing.
