So we missed on a big recruit. Spilled milk at this point. Most of us would be pretty good had we got Surtain, me included. My perspective on this signing class would be somewhat different.

But let's remember we signed a great class lead by outstanding players at many positions. A class with an emphasis on physical play.

These players deserve our respect and unconditional support. Many will become special players for the purple and gold. Many will go on to play on Sunday's.

We are LSU.

For the young men that chose to play for the purple and gold - We salute you. Now go prove all the doubters wrong.

Incompetence on the field cost us Surtain, and incompetence off of it cost us Goodrich.

Yes we signed good players. One of our biggest positions of need was corner. Know how many we signed? ZERO.

we not only missed on him, we got hoodwinked and had no backup plan. we thwarted others interest and possible commitments to hold of on a bill of goods sold as a sure thing. id have taken Goodrich and still held a spot for PS. you take PS over everyone left but that didn't require burning a bridge or a scholly

We missed on a number of players.

Missing on one won't hurt you but missing out on three to four top 100 guys a year will hurt you.

Consistently missing on top 20 players means the difference between SEC Championships and 9-3.

It hurts. Face the facts.

Must be getting old typing this up every single year when we lose out on big recruits we thought we had. To make it worse, they didn't even attempt backup options.

O sucks as a coach. We all know it. His career SEC record speaks for itself. He's suppose to be a good recruiter and this is the worst class LSU has had since probably Saban's first year here? He's too busy hiring his mentors who are likely to have strokes on the sidelines at any moment because he's too incompetent to do the job himself. No improvements on recruiting from this staff at all. Everything since Miles has left is actually getting worse at LSU. Like I said other day, the SEC around us get better we get worse. Recruiting today just proved it. LSU has their feet stuck in the mud while other programs actively try to win.

Anyways, I didn't follow recruiting today because the pessimist knew we were going to get fricked and we did. Some of you wanted this jackass and this is what you get. Enjoy it. Have fun because I'm not supporting this program again until they clean house from top to bottom.

A) every 'brand' needs something to hang its hat on... all we had left was DBU. Having a year where 1.5 starters leave and none incoming just might cause that to slip away.

B) No, one player makes a class. But it takes every position to make a team. A weakness at 1 position is a team weakness. Maybe not next year (and maybe so), we are staring down the barrel of a gun for depth/weakness at a very critical position, due to strategy (that rested on that 1 player).

One doesn't make a class but when that one was basically served up in a platter, at a huge position of need, arguably the biggest, and we turned away at least 2 top 10 CBS holding out for him, it takes the class from a solid B to a wiltering C-. Spin it however you want we aren't beating teams with 4 CBS. All they have to do is spread us out and make Safeties cover wrs and we will look how UGA did in the last play against the 4 verts. There were at least 3 receivers open on that play. A basic 4 verts play. That will be our season.

This times a billion.

Total incompetence to think that signing or trying to sign 1 cb when you only have 4 scholarship cb's on the roster and 1 of those is not even fully back on the team.

Even more incompetent then I thought.

And for LSUSaint - out of all these ol/dl signees that are "cool" many higher rated ones were signed by other teams.

Coach O says that he trusts his evaluation. We will see.

It is still an out of balance class that created new holes in the roster by his own decision making.

No, but ZERO certainly makes a class. As in ZERO CBs. Not one. At DBU.

If you look at our recruiting vs. Bama, Auburn and Georgia you quickly see a big difference in talent.

Pair that with the fact they have a better HC than us and you see that we are playing for 4th place in the SEC.
