I mean we had top 3 and top 5 classes pre-NIL days
I would bet a lot of money that LSU’s pre NIL class ranking average finishing ranking over the last 10-15 years was not top 5

We might be a top 5 finishing school on average over that time period, but our average ranking is above 5. Meaning pre-nil if you finish with an average class ranking of 6-7 over 10-15 years you’re in the top 5 of recruiting schools over that period. This class is right on track with our pre-nil rankings, if not slightly better than our average during that time

I feel better about this class tonight than I did a week ago. We gave up Thanos, but we got a 5* OT. Pickett signing is the biggest of them all. He’s a starting corner day 1. Bryce going to Michigan is a bummer, but it’s insane to think anyone would turn down that type of money, let alone a highschool kid.

CBK needs to go hard in the portal. I think he knows this. If he can get the right guys in the portal, his trash talking at the presser a week ago may not have been as far off as some of us might have thought.

Losing Derek Meadows is a huge loss. Elite 6’6” receiver. We lost big play makers because of NIL.

I also think it’s telling that we had the top class lined up and only slipped to #6 because of 11th hour bag drops. To me that suggests LSU is a top-tier destination school still… just don’t have enough money for all the top-tier guys at once. And consistent #6 classes would put us in national title contention every year still. So I’m not worried.

Should also mean we can go get some dawgs in the portal.

I can't remember the last time 4 of the top 5 recruits from LA went OOS. Ron Bellamy (UM WR Coach from New Orleans) came down and got 3 recruits ranked higher than Hanktons top recruit. Idk if he's on staff next season. And fwiw, I couldn't name one single UM WR. Meanwhile, LSU could be in the argument for WRU yet we can't seem to get anyone. And that's not throwing any hate at the dudes we got, just disappointment at all the swings and misses this cycle.

To "compete" in the NIL era means making the playoffs, right? Well I think we have a shot at the playoffs every year TBH. How many NCs we win? I don't know, but any program that wins one in the next 10 years is probably doing really well. Hopefully we're one of them

Might know an entitled bitch was the main reason Underwood left LSU. Gotta love today’s college football recruiting!

You think we can sustain this? We don't have near the deep pockets as several other programs, and over time, it will show, and it will always be those 6 or 7 programs....unless something changes.

Stop it. This class went from being in the top tier teams to a B- class at best

Finished between 6-8 depending on service and will likely move up.

Four star OL from Arkansas is expected to get fifth star.

Kelly expects to sign 2-4 more before utilizing portal.

Fourth best average star rating among all teams.

But yeah, B- class at best.
