Why do you think that a three star developed properly can't compete with a 5 star.
Sure, but does it take 2-3 years to properly develop them before they see the field? That leaves you maybe one season of productivity.
Don’t you think those 5-stars are also being developed, but as they are playing also? Advantage, 5-stars.

Lots of 5 star players sit the pine.

There are plenty of value players out there that for whatever reason don't get that 4th or 5th star. Maybe they weren't able to camp or something. There's only so many 5 stars to go around. LSU'S going to have more than their fair share of them this year.

The recruiting "Star" measurements are weakest when trying to judge linemen. These stars are not nearly as reliable for the line as they are for skill positions.
Linemen are made in the weight room and in tough physical practices. Usually takes a couple years to develop them.

That's the plan. Develop players. How many 5 stars do you think are available?

I feel Like when you’re looking at 3 star guys you gotta look at potential. Bennie Logan was a 3 star but he had a great frame and moved inside and had a great career.
If your 6’2” 323 pounds and not just dominating, you’re probably just a big guy. And it’s like in basketball you can’t teach size.

Our class currently ranks in the top 3 so you're not allowed to complain.
But you're not wrong
DL & OL recruiting has been very meh the past 2-3 years. And if we have any aspirations for competing for a SECC that needs to change.

Currently the 2nd ranked class on the country, but what are we doing?

Olinemen are probably the hardest to project coming out of high school.
Did you look at these cats offer lists?

Let’s not act like ALL of our linemen are 3* guys.
The 2019 class had 4* guys on both sides of the line, including multiple OL positions.
The 2020 class also has one each of 4* OL and DL.
Baja currently has two 3* OL. Yes. We still have some room to improve. No debating that. But let’s not act line we are ONLY singing 3* talent and other schools aren’t signing any.

Have you looked at where 5-Star O-Line recruits have gone in the NFL draft?
That's one of the criteria of a 5-Star - likely to be first round draft pick. They're the bottom group in that department.

Sure, but usually when there’s great depth and/or better talent/experience at the position. Not really applicable to LSU linemen. I’m pretty sure you know this.

They should not even allow P5 conferences to sign 3 star lineman. I mean, every team should have all 5 stars across the board. 5 star lineman are falling off of trees everywhere.

The best car at the car show probably is not the one with the highest price tag.

I’m not sure what you’re saying. The car with the highest price tag at the car show is the rarest. May/may not be the “best.”

Clemson and Bama are taking most of them.
It would be nice if we'd get some of them.
