What in the hell are you talking about? Name 2 starters on defense that he has got that will start. Not gamechangers, just starters. Still need DL, CB, and S. Literally the entire defense needs help and he's done nothing. Why are yall getting so excited about us landing depth pieces?

Those players don’t exist in the portal.

How many championships did he win in all these years coaching at ND? I picked this season but you can pick any season and ND has a weak schedule. That CB, DE, and QB would all start and probably do very good at ND but this is LSU. We ain't the same.
How many active coaches have national championships?

You knew the moment this thread got made it was just going to be a matter of seconds before one of the Rosy Stench Boys came in here to tell you that the players we are getting in the portal are just trash that no one else wanted and that BK is a complete failure at everything.
Some folks are still angry that Ed O got fired and it’s pretty obvious who’s really behind these posters.
Oh well. I guess if he’s occupying his time here try ing to shite all over BK then at least he isn’t out getting arrested again for forging licenses.

Chicken please ban this arsehole troll!

He obviously got caught flat footed, which is understandble. He has been doing College Football the way College Football had been done his whole career. Roster management is now a completely different animal.
It does appear that he has learned some lessons from failures. That's all we can ask. Geaux Tigers!

How about saying you don't like Kelly. Get off his arse, prick. He's working on the team like he said he would!

Things haven’t been perfect for him since taking over.. Trying to rebuild lsu after the roster issues right as NIL was launching and free transfer. LSU being a little behind the game at first because we were trying to do the right nil thing. Coupled with having to fire the entire D after 2 years. New staff on Both sides. Some of these are his own doing. Some were just a bad hand.
Spot on and very realistic take

You are an absolute idiot. Kelly is killing it in the portal right now and filling some very big holes. News flash, WR isnt the biggest postion of need on this team. Being aggressive is about filling out holes on your team. Not signing the #1 guy in the portal just cause he's #1.

I agree 100%. People have a very short memory. This NIL / Transfer Portal era of recruiting makes it 10 times harder to put a playoff competitive team together.
This has to be factored in when considering if BK is doing the right things as the leader of our program. He is the most competent coach we have had on campus in the history of LSU - minus Saban. He is 2nd to none in front of people in fundraising and recruiting. He has the right systems in place for us to be a success. Its just a matter of time before the success we are looking for happens.
Our fanbase need to understand that we will not be in contention every year to be in the playoffs. Competition for those spots in the College Playoffs is only going to get tougher. We just need to exercise a little patience.

He's been a college football coach for a long time. However, the world of college football completely changed in the last 3-4 years and he, like others, has been trying to figure out the best way to adapt to the changing landscape. He went big in the portal in 2022 because he felt he had to. After that, he wanted to build in the more "traditional" manner because the feeling was you could potentially get more certainty and structure by recruiting/developing HS signees. I think the Underwood situation was the final nail to have him accept that no matter how long you recruit a kid. No matter how great of a relationship you have with him; no matter how much money you are willing to commit; that could all be for nothing within the span of a day and there is very little to keep that kid with you for more than a year even if you do meet the high initial demand. A transaction that comes with risk because you've never seen the kid play college football.
At that point it appears he decided that if I only get a year's commitment (at best) anyway I may as well spend my money on guys with a track record of (some degree) of success at the college level who are more likely to step in an perform right away

About 10 SEC teams are good enough to beat one another on any given Saturday. Takes a break on the schedule, few injuries and a little luck to even get in the playoffs. Great ole AL did not even get in over SMU because of 3 losses.
Roster holes and depth are getting full in the portal along with incoming freshmen.

He's turning it around, for sure. The NIL and portal landscape is a learning curve for everybody. Now that our concerns about the roster have been assuaged, I hope he has the STC gets these guys stronger and tougher than any other team out there.
