Yes, this is pure speculation on my end, but if the OP is right, and other posters are right, then yes Downs is only 1 of 2 possibilities here, and that’s all I’m saying.

While I think we grossly underestimate LSU'S ability to raise and spend NIL money, I don't in anyway think we are out spending Ohio state for one of the best safeties in the country that is currently already on their team. I have yet to see a a Nil list that doesn't have Ohio state outside of the top 3. Hope and pray Im wrong but Id be absolutely shocked if they some how they pulled something like that off..

Not saying it’s downs or anybody for that matter but the idea that LSU couldn’t win a bidding war for 1 player against Ohio State is false. Maybe we are willing to pay way over market or maybe they have too much going other places to make a better offer. A school with less NIL can win a single battle against a school with more money they just can’t do it consistently.

Delpit struggled that year due to playing with a high ankle sprain. Once he was healthy the defense started to dominate in the playoffs.

I would want you to not believe rumors on TD as most of the time they are 90% never true. Caleb Downs is not coming to Baton Rouge, like are we serious?

Just to let you know, if you have followed the recruiting board the last 2 weeks, the rumors on here about transfers are pretty much hitting at a 100% clip.

No, I don’t think it’s gonna be a no name player. I personally believe it’s the ASU safety (Xavien Alford) or TEX (Derek Williams) thinking Caleb Downs is taking a paycut to come back to the SEC is laughable

I want you to put into perspective what is going on on the state of college football today. Kids are going where $ is. Why would the best safety in America, leave his team that is in the path to a National Championship to get less pay, back into a tougher conference? I’ll gladly eat crow if this is the case but use your head. It would be the strangest portal move ever. I’m seriously not trynna be a dick, or sound like I’m trying to prove you wrong because who knows, but like this just would be such a lateral move.
